Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Eat fresh food. Try to stay away from packaged processed food. Only eat carbs from fruits and veggies. If you don't like water try decaf ice tea with splenda it counts as water intake. This is how I eat everyday. I had Gastric bypass 3 years ago and this is how I keep from gaining weight. I haven't gained any and alot of people gain 20-50 pounds back after 2 years. Alot of people think I tool the easy way out but I have dieted everyday for 3 years. The first year was the surgery now it is me.

| Drink a ton of water (at least 64 oz a day)...it really does speed up your metabolism and helps you feel full. I've always had to watch my weight since I was in my teens and recently since I had my back injury I must exercise at least 5 times a week to strengthen my back and keep my core strong, otherwise I'll be in pain and have difficulty moving (and I've been pain free and medication free for the past 2.5 months.) The exercise gives me energy but the water is what I think makes the difference. My skin even seems to glow when I drink lots of water and I seem to lose weight without even trying when I drink more water. So drink up, V

| V, I think you looked great in those pictures!!! I don't know what you're talking about losing weight for. I think the key to losing weight or staying thin is "everything in moderation". I personally don't like the diets where you have to completely stop eating from one food group...I just can't see that being healthy at all. Try to eat small meals throughout the day and have little snacks throughout it to keep your metabolism going. For example, have a small breakfast, then a couple of hours later, juice some fruits and veggies and drink that. Then a couple of hours later, have lunch. Then a couple of hours later, and so on. This really helps. At each meal, don't eat until you're full, just until you're satisfied so that you can have a little snack in a little while. I don't like diets, I think we just have to be healthier about what we eat. Like WV Yorkies said, stay away from processed foods. Cut out soda or anything like that and drink water instead You seriously don't have to worry about losing weight though!! You look awesome!

| I ditto just about everything already said! Ice cold water w/ a lemon slice -I found that if I fill up a 2 quart picture of ice cold water, carry it to my computer and constantly refill my glass (luckily the upstairs office is next to the bathroom), I can drink that before lunch......then, I fill it up again, and try for another 2 quarts after lunch. -My water has to be ice cold or else, I just can't stand to drink it. -also try the crystal light drink mixes...they have some good flavors and they are better for you then cokes, etc. PLUS, it gives you a change from just boring water. Cut up fresh veggies/fruits (keep them handy) -I know if mine aren't handy (cut up, etc), I find I don't eat them as much -Also, frozen fruits and veggies and even the canned ones are just as good for you (I have researched that) - just rinse any salt from canned veggies or look for no salt added. The frozen cherries are yummy and the blueberries/strawberries/etc can be easily added to oatmeal, smoothies, cereal, etc. Small meals - I have tried this and I think it may work....I just didn't stick w/ it. I would eat a small breakfast, do a small (healthy) snack, eat lunch, snack, dinner, etc....whew, it seemed like I was eating my day away! hee,hee BUT this is what everyone says to do. I walk....even to start, maybe 10 minutes a day...work your way up. Walking does WONDERS!!!! (((speaking of which, I need to get back in that everyday habit again))) **I read somewhere that if you mixed a little bit of honey (can't remember how much) in a glass of water and drank it before you walked or exercise, that gives your metabolism a bust. I believe it said it was good to drank another afterwords so you don't feel that sluggish, tired feeling from your workout. - I haven't tried it yet** I haven't tried Relacor, but I am glad it was mentioned because I need something for that little extra push and support. I know how it feels to NOT be able to lose the weight. It SUCKS!!!!

No Longer a Member | Villette, You totally do not need to lose any weight, but if you're looking for tips to keep from being hungry all the time, here's mine. I make a big pot of lowfat vegetable-based soup. They fill you up because there's lots of water, and the veggies are good for you and lots of fiber (if you know what I mean ) Here's the latest one I made last week. So good. Vegetable-Tortellini soup 1 ts olive oil 2 carrots, peeled and diced 2 celery ribs, sliced 1/2 large onion, chopped 1/2 green bell pepper, chopped 2 cloves garlic, minced 1/2 cup sliced green beans (I took about a dozen or so fresh green beans and cut them into quarter inch pieces) 1/3 cup frozen corn kernals 1/3 cup frozen peas 1 can diced tomatoes 2 cans chicken broth 1/4 ts dried oregano 1/2 ts dried basil dash allspice salt n pepper to taste 1 quart water 1 cup Barilla dried cheese tortellini 1/2 zucchini, diced In a large pot, heat olive oil, and add carrots through garlic. Saute 2 minutes. Add all remaining ingredients EXCEPT tortellini and zucchini. Bring to a boil; reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes. Raise heat; add tortellini and set timer for 11 minutes. When there are 4 minutes left, add the zucchini and continue cooking. Makes 8 servings with 10 tortellini in each serving for about 1 point (weight watchers). Serving suggestion: I like to sprinkle a smidge of parmesan cheese on it. Yummy! |

| I love Weight Watchers. I lost 30 lbs. there about 5 -6 years ago and have kept if off for the most part. I need to lose about 5 pounds of winter weight now, so I have to just start eating really right. The most important thing they taught me is portion control. I also buy fat-free whatever is available if it tastes okay. If you do the low fat thing though, you need to take your omega oils (like from flaxseed oil). Lots of water, exercise if you can, have your snacks prepared and never leave the house without something you can eat that you enjoy and isn't fattening. In a pinch, I'll have a banana, and in the summer I don't worry because you can always buy a container of cut-up cantaloupe, honeydew and watermelon. I used to have about 5 small meals/day (3 meals and 2 snacks), but now I just have the 3 meals. What helped me a lot was to never let myself be hungry, and if I had craving, to figure out exactly what I was craving and then try to substitute it with a fat-free product. Many a night, I would have Fat free Cool Whip with low fat chocolate syrup because I need my sweets! You could have caught me also swigging down low fat chocolate syrup right from the bottle some nights. If it was chips I craved, then it was really salty and crispy stuff so I ate fat free popcorn or low fat chips, etc. Anyway, good luck and, of course you don't really need to lose - you're gorgeous, but if you feel that you want to, I'm backing you up!

| I'm doing Weight Watchers now and to be honest sometimes get off track but for the most part it is working. Some of their receipes are very good but I don't care for their bars cookies etc . that they have available at the meetings. I find eating multiple times during the day works better for me, that way I never reach STARVING. For instance, oatmeal for breakfast, then around 9 a lowfat yogurt, then a noon 2 slices of WW bread with 1 point of low faqt deli lunch meat, then 3 an orange, apple or other fruit with low fat cheese then dinner, later maybe a low calorie desert or popcorn. Another thing I find great (because there are no kids around to grab them) is 100 cal portions of things like cookies or wheat thins. Many times what we feel is hunger is actually thirst (do forget your water). Since I have been on WW my husband is gaining weight. With only two of us, receipes usually say "serves 4" so I eat one portion and he finishes the other 3. Now is a great time to diet, there are so many great fresh fruits and veggies out but winter is boring.

| Villette - Weight Watchers Besides what everyone else said: Write down everything you eat Eat frequently - every 2 hours (some can get away with the 3 meals and snacks... for me it was about "grazing" small frequent healthy snacking on a regulated basis then you actually don't GET hungry) Don't deny yourself - use portion control

| Also, find some good "quick" recipes to use. If you like chocolate and ice cream sandwiches... try using Chocolate Graham Crackers & Fat Free/Low Fat Cool Whip in the middle - freeze! Beside veggies and fruits - try to cook enough chicken or turkey to keep on hand for sandwiches or salads. I'm from the Midwest.. I cannot survive on fruits, veggies and pasta alone. Remember "WHERE'S THE BEEF?" That's me! Basically... Write it down Measure it Drink water Portion size Eat often

| Wow, there are some really good tips. I might try Relacore, but I need to see how it interacts with my regular medication. I'll reccomend it to my mom for sure, she'll be very interested.

I agree with EVERYTHING you said. This works for me too. Portion control, eating often, eating healthy, drinking enough water, and WRITE it down so you're more conscious of what you eat. My main thing that works is eat often. Don't let yourself get to the point where you're STARVING. I eat oatmeal or whole wheat toast w/natural PB for breakfast, then a yogurt of piece of fruit around 9-10. Then for lunch I'll eat a "Lean Cuisine" type frozen meal, and around 3 I'll have crackers and natural PB, two ounces of lowfat cheese, or a piece of fruit. Dinner always includes protein, carbs, veggies and dairy in some form. Oh, and I DON'T eat red meat or regular soda. Period. Soda is loaded with calories and sugar. If I'm going to take in those kind of calories, it better be in the form of red wine Red meat is out-I haven't eaten it since I was 11. I DO eat all types of fish and seafood, and some chicken-maybe 2-3 servings per week. Soy products are great for getting extra protein. I'm 25, and have gained only about 12-15 pounds since leaving high school. I can still wear into my h.s. graduation dress! (not that I want to...it's probably not stylish, but I keep it just to try on!) Finally, remember that you look great-and you're working to keep yourself feeling great! We all have ups and downs, but be positive-you are investing your time and energy in your most prized posession: your body! Good luck!
