| I lost 17 lbs but ugggggh the scale has not moved much in the last few days, and no carbs is finally getting to me, I can't even sleep. I am taking a break for a few days, not going to binge but need a small break. So many people rave about how great they feel gluten free, not me I think I feel a bit weird now, but it might be from the fact that I have slept like crap during this diet. I was hoping to hold out until I leave for NY on Wed, but eggs every day for breakfast is getting to me!

Fast forward a year and a half. I have learned to switch things up. When I am craving something "carby" for breakfast (I think that's the meal that was the hardest), I eat oat bran. It is high in fiber. On days that I am running it provides the extra kick I need. I have found many excellent low carb websites with great "normal" foods. My experience was that stagnant scales would happen. I would go 2 or 3 days with no change and then finally, boom, they would move again. Hang in there. It gets better. On a final note, is it possible that you aren't eating enough carbs even for low-carb? We never went under 20 a day, not even in induction. Maybe you should add in some fruit. I would eat strawberries doused in whipped cream and tell myself it was pie .

Wow you are on a roll! Don't give up. Maybe it's your body detoxing making you feel like crap? I am sure your body will even itself out. My mirror tells me I am losing and yesterday my bf commented that I looked like I was losing weight, but I am still not getting on the scale. I think I have a new phobia!!!! LOL ![]() Well off to the gym I go. Have a good day everyone. | |

I too have egg every morning for breakfast, but I'll tell you how I have it - it's SO good: 1/2 toasted english muffin, then take pre-cut cheapo slice of white or yellow cheese and put on muffin, then use an egg slicer to slice a hard boiled egg - take the slices and place them over the muffin (I usually have 3 little slices left over, which I give to the doggies) - then micro for 10 seconds. De-lish! And good for ya too.

The OZ diet and the Induction period of Atkins which I spent most of the last month on are not way of life eating plan diets they are designed for quick weight loss, which is what I wanted short term. That's why they are very rigid and do not allow a lot of room for substituting. With both diets if you stayed on the plan for the whole day and cheated with a few snacks at night you will find yourself easily gaining weight, yesterday I had eggs and bacon for breakfast, a healthy size chicken breast for lunch with mashed cauliflower and a pound of crab legs with drawn butter for dinner, with some veggies to snack on. I had to be careful not to overdo the veggies because it could put me over the carb limit. The protein in the Atkins diet burns fat but when you though in to many carbs you blow.

| Spin was a great workout. I will be going again. And capt_noonie, you were right. No big butt and legs in the class. People were either fat (probably new comers like my self) or very fit and looked great. The instructor was very fit. |

| BROWNIES - Linda's Low Carb Menus & Recipes For any "lowcarbers". This is an excellent chocolate cake/brownie recipe. I make a few alterations. Instead of 3/4 cup of almond flour, I use 1/2 cup of almond flour and 1/4 cup of cocoa. These are gooey, which my family likes. I top cooled brownies with whipped cream. I so wish I lived somewhere with close access to a gym.

| I've had that recipe pinned for a while. I can't ever get past a ripe avocado without just eating it plain with greek yogurt and some salt. Sometimes I can get it into an omelette. LOL.

| You know, what is the difference between paleo and lowcarb or Atkins? Am I missing something big bc it seems pretty identical.
