I would call my style somewhat ecelctic/artsy bc I mix a lot of different styles together - traditional, vintage, modern splashes, lots of art, some antiques, some shabby chic (but not overly), found objects, industrial / rustic, a couple/few mid-century slanted pieces. Thanks for posting your pinterest!

I've looked into Fireslate too. It is lighter weight.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Just catching up on my design blogs and thought this one was kinda fun/inspiring: My favouritehome...ever - desire to inspire - desiretoinspire.net This style is way more earthy than mine, but I love the super muted palette, all the re-purposed items, the beachy bleachy wood pieces and LOVElovelove the industrial light fixtures in the bedroom (ChaCha, aren't you loving?!)!

| Ok the patio guys are kinda pissing me off. Last week they didn't show up for two days bc they said they were waiting on the concrete guys to come first and pour the foundation down for the legs of the patio. The concrete guys came a day late, so that was another day. When they finally put up the patio, they put up the wrong one! We ordered the one with scalloped beams but they put in the mitered ones. So now they have to go back and take it down, recut the beams and put it back up. Maybe, MAYBE they said they could do it Tues. In the meantime they could have been working on the pavers. Nope. One day they showed up just to put in one tree and then they took off. Our backyard is TINY. The sales guy said it could be done in three days. It's been a week already and not even close to being done. So did not get to enjoy our patio for the weekend. Too hot right now for the roof deck. Plus all our non succulents are dying on the roof. Even the ones that say are for full sun. I hate seeing plants die.

| ^^ Not doing things on schedule is one of the things I hate about hiring other people to do house/yard projects. I too hate to see plants die. Can you put them in the backyard while you are waiting? Blue subway tile -- I need my bathroom done in these now! White would be better for re-sale though. I wish had tiling skills. blue subway tiles.JPG

| Well good thing is most of our plants we bought a Lowes or Home Depot. They have a one year guarantee on dead plants, no questions asked. We bought 4 firecracker plants (hummingbird bush). We love hummingbirds and butterflies. These are supposed to attract them. We have two in the yard, and two up top. The two up top died almost immediately, and it wasn't even that hot. The two in the yard have been planted and are getting over the initial shock. They grow fast. But the ones up top are dead, crunchy dead. Also my herbs in my windowsills. Some keep dying, some do well. I've moved the more delicate ones to morning sun only but still it looks like the sun light is burning the leaves. Interestingly enough, I have a French Tarragon in the afternoon sun window, and the Texas tarragon in the morning sun window. They said the TX one is more hearty to the heat. Guess which one died. LOL The TX one! The French one is doing well. All my tomato seedlings died, so did my eggplant and cucumber. I think it's too late to put new ones in anyway, bc the dang patio guys are so slow! We moved in early March. We started this early April but the HOA was dragging their feet for our approval. Took over a month to get an approval. Now it's end of May already and still about another week out it looks like. We have plants everywhere waiting to get put in.

On the plants - same thing happens to me. Almost all full sun plants just die for me; the only potted ones doing okay are my pencil plants and mother-in-law's tongue. Quote:

| I finally got my summer planting done and the existing beds cleaned out. This year I am doing Vinca's on the porch baskets, Sweet Potato vines on the patio, Impatiens by the garage in a large pot and of course my Hydrangeas(which surprisingly survived the Polar Votrex). I really want to do some Peppers and Tomato's in containers but so far I haven't got around to it.

| How funny I had to look that up bc I wasn't familiar with the name. It's named that bc of it's long lashing shape. Haha.

Well I have had an estimate on a few things in my bathroom, I am going to purchase the flooring tile, haven't decided what type but I do know I want shinny white in color and when my Son comes to visit in a few weeks he said he would do the job or my SIL would I am sure. The rest I will live with since it's not all that bad and, prices are off the charts. for me anyway. Home and Garden is my favorite TV channel. I will watch all of you as well and get even more ideas that I can't afford. LOL
