![]() Maria does have a bias towards white kitchens and subway tiles. She says subway tiles for the kitchen and bathroom have been around since the 50's and are still popular today, they are timeless and classic. Some people might find them boring but I love them! There is a trend right now to eliminate the upper cabinets. I like the look but i wonder how they compensate for the loss of storage. Like this kitchen...... no-uppers-10.jpg

| ![]() I sometimes go to gardenweb web site for inspiration. The topic of white kitchen tends to be a regular discussion. Someone asked the question if they had regrets going with a white kitchen. The answer was, some liked the white because ALL the spots, dust and grime from handling the doors and draws showed up so they knew where to clean to keep it looking spotless. Then there was the other group who didn't like the white kitchens because it DID show all the spots, dust and grime. They felt the wood tone cabinets hid the messes so they didn't have to work so hard keeping the kitchen looking clean. Even if it did take more work I still love the look, especially if it has one of those apron sinks.

| ![]() Yes! I want to redo our 2 full baths in white subway tile, with some little shiny glass tile mixed in. Little tile like this (hot man in towel would be a nice addition too ![]() ![]() tile.JPG

| ![]() I agree -- it is so easy to lose hours drooling over Houzz.

| ![]() Here is a lovely white kitchen for you with interesting bar stools. What do you all think about wood floors in kitchen? I have always had tile, but I kind of like the softer look especially with the light kitchens. It would probably be too dark or woody for me though with woodgrain cabinets.

| ![]() I am itching to pull up all our carpet and do hardwood. I like to do things myself, so right now, time (and $) are keeping me from doing it. I also want to take our existing deck out and replace it with a newer, nicer, bigger one. I love being outdoors, and want an oasis, but right now it's not very oasis-y. My son and I are redoing the walls in the living room to look like a log cabin. It's a slow process, but when it's all done, it will be worth it. (I love my power tools!!). My interior is very rustic/lodge like, and this is what we're doing to the walls. Before, they were just white Sheetrock. This is my entry, where you first come in my front door:

| ![]() We have a white quartz countertop, back splash is subway tile white with gray grout. The only color in my kitchen is my blue Kitchen Aid mixer. We are planning to sell next year and I wanted to enjoy my kitchen before we move, next time I will go with a French vanilla white and and rubbed oil bronze fixtures, I wanted that this time but could not get my head wrapped around what color appliances I should get. We did go with the double door refrigerator with a drawer freezer, love it. Also we brought our hardwood into the kitchen. It's working well, I wanted all the same flooring on first floor.

| ![]() My obsession is going to new subdivisions and touring the model homes (odd obsession I know). My newest must haves in the next house are: 1. Second floor laundry 2. Mud room with a built in dog crate (they are doing this all over in my area) I have found that my style is very clean lines, few walls and no fuss.

I know what you mean about liking one element, i.e. rubbed oil bronze fixtures, but not knowing what to do with the appliances. I would like to have matching cabinet fronts for the refrigerator and dishwasher, but what to do with the stove? Quote:

| ![]() Does anyone watch "Revenge"? I basically want everything in the Grayson Mannor house. Love all the wainscoting, which is way beyond my skill level. Would definitely need a pro.
