Got a home project you want to share? Want to share something home-related you're lusting over? Found a cool design / home website or blog? Found something that is Pin-Worthy? Want advice about something home related? Have a collection/obsession you curate that you'd like to share?

We need a thread about home-related topics, don't we??? I feel like we do bc a few of us have been sharing home related topics on other threads. So, I thought it'd be fun to share whatever as it pertains to your home or home shopping or home projects or design etcetera.

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller???

I'll start by sharing a couple home things I'm lusting over. HOW darling is this "Ring for Champagne" sign?? I love it / lust it. Also, I've been lusting over this table lamp, but it's way too much money....but it'd be so kewl in the perfect spot. Also have been obsessing over Sputnik-type-style hanging light fixtures....which is weird bc my home doesn't even have a Mid-Century style, but I can't help it!

Loving those light fixtures and the champagne button.

I'm dreaming big right now. Would love to tear out our '80s kitchen and do something like this on a much smaller scale (Ann, check out the stools in the second photo):

Lovvvvvve that ceiling in that 1st picture, oh my! Also LOVE the black paned windows! Love the whole thing actually. So gorgeous.

And yup, you know me well - I LOVE that industrial stool!!! I don't think I ever updated my stool thread, but I ended up getting neither of those, and got these instead, on sale (!): Twist Swivel Stool | World Market

Great idea for a new thread and I'm All In :D:D:D

I love home projects and am ready for a new kitchen myself. I just haven't found the right cabinets. I'm so afraid of making a mistake, I want something I will love for another 20 years or more since it is so expensive.

In the last 3 years I've done major upgrades like beautiful teak wood floors upstairs and all travertine-look porcelain tile downstairs, new master bathroom that I adore, mahogany doors some new windows lots of paint inside and out.

But I still have to complete the guest bathroom, and replace my now 20 year old kitchen. Can't wait to get rid of whitewashed cabinets and have something like soft toned cherry or teak, with lots of big lower drawers instead of doors w/pullouts, and granite counters instead of tile, all new appliances too. I just have to be brave and be ready to have the entire kitchen ripped out for a month or two. Argg, the thought of the mess and having contractors here (while living here with 3 pups) always slows me down.

I so hear you on the fear of making a mistake - I'm the same way. And, I'd probably feel paralyzed for a good long while if I was re-doing my entire kitchen bc it's such a huge decision and undertaking. This gal is almost done w/ her GORGEOUS kitchen remodel and it's been fun to watch...I'll link you to only her renovation posts: smitten studio // sarah sherman samuel Home Renovation

I think a true white kitchen is timeless classic. Mine is white washed, so the wood grain shows, and almost has a slight pinkish tone. The finish is chipping off areas that get wet. I find the more natural wood tones more grounding and in sync with my so called tropical life. Koa is the timeless wood standard here but way too expensive. Funny that designers are saying whitewash is making a comeback, just about the time I want to ditch it.

The biggest change I look forward to is having upper cabinets go all the way to the ceiling to have more storage and not have the shelf above that is hard to clean. I love different dishes and glass ware, have way too many sets, but love switching around so need more storage.

My kitchen is open to the "great room", where I have eggplant dark purple leather furniture cause I do love color. Matter of fact there is purple in almost every room in my house, and some rooms are moving more into various chases of turquoise, my other favorite.

Love home projects, and spend much time daily thinking about it all. Spring is always a fun season to start things for a refreshing renewal.

The doggies are a big reason I do not look forward to big, messy projects.

Teak and travertine-look floors *sigh* sounds goooorgeous!

I worry too about making really big decisions like kitchen cabinets. Thinking that the white kitchens that I love may only look good in photos, and might not be as appealing to me in person. The only thing I know for sure is that I am tired of oak.

I do love the floors, and the best part is that they are dog proof. Yes, it makes for a lovely dog kennel that I am privileged to live in, haha. Being carpet free is so liberating. Three years ago, I did have a couple contractors tell me they would not do my remodeling with me and the dogs living here ( and that's when I had 5:eek:) It was a constant worry having to watch the dogs to make sure they didn't get loose or get hurt. We spent a lot of time in my office room for the 8 month project, but worth it all.

That's exactly how I feel about white kitchens too! I pin pictures of them all the time and I love how they look, but I don't know if I'd like it as much in person as in the picture. I love how white makes everything else look sculptural though...it makes the accessories really fun.

Her house is so cool - very LA. She is more mid-century modern style in general, but branches out a bit too. She also has a cottage in Michigan that she remodeled and it's also SO cool, just gorgeous! The kitchen is super small there, but done so well (white, of course, lol).

I just love the look of a white kitchen! It looks so clean and classic. I must have about 500 pictures of white kitchen pictures on my Pinterest boards so I can dream about them! :) Maybe one day......

As for blogs, I just love Maria's! I have learned sooo much from her about paint and the undertones all paint has. Maria has many articles explaining the impact it will have in your decor decisions and if you mix the wrong undertones you probably won't like the outcome in your design decisions. Her e-book was so helpful for me in understanding this concept. I now look at paint and home furnishings in a completely different way.

She has some articles on the subject of white kitchens....

I'm reading Maria's white kitchen posts right now, fun stuff. Love a white kitchen w/ a black counter top, which is shown in a post about granite. So classic.

Is your kitchen white?

I also lovvvvvvvvvve subway tile in white kitchen. I know subway tile has been "in vogue" for a long time now, but I'm still loving it and find it timeless and so attractive. I've had thoughts about subway-tiling my kitchen island, as I saw on this pin, kinda fun, but don't know if I'd ever do it: subway tile island | Living Spaces | Pinterest
