| Here's something worth sharing. I have been helping myself detox for at least a month now using Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar. I put two tablespoons in a wine glass and then fill the rest with water and drink it before breakfast every morning. Yes, it is nasty. But it is suppose to have a lot of health benefits, including helping with weight loss because it cleans you out. Here is a link to read a little on it. | So.. I gained about 5-6 lbs. Ever since I got into that car accident back in late October, I haven't been walking Magnus and don't really move around as much. PLUS! All the holiday foods.. -_-; After looking at the scale for the first time since the accident, I was shocked into working out again. LOL |

| I had to control myself last night when the family decided they had a sweet tooth and wanted ME to go buy stuff to make banana splits. lol Well I came home with light vanilla ice cream, lucerene whipped topping (label had less calories) and Hershey's chocolate syrup in a can (way less calories than the others). I didn't make my own, but did have a couple bites off theirs. So I shouldn't be in too much trouble. With our dinner last night, they had rice and I had a side salad instead. I have to do things like that everyday though because they won't eat healthy even if I try to force it one them. I have to sneak it on them it get it done. The funny part is they can never tell the difference when I do. |

| I don't think that weird, as there are many calories in salad dressing. Of course it all depends on what dressing one chooses. I usually ask for it on the side, and dip (not drench) my salad in it. This way every bite tastes good and less calories in that way. |

Not sure what 'older' means to you, but I hear that once we hit 50 it takes twice as long to work off the extra pounds. Arggg! I too am paying more attention to what I'm putting in my mouth. Fortunately for me, my health conscious dad always made an effort to chew his food lots, like 30 times, before he swallowed, so I have consciously tried to count to 15-20 myself. There are enzymes that are released while we chew that help in the breaking down of food in our stomaches, so it is in our best interest to chew more. As you said, the more you chew the fuller we feel in a shorter time frame The other thing that I do when I go out for dinner is portion 1/2 from the start, so that I am not overeating and have a meal left over They certainly can make food taste soooo delicious that I want more, but have to talk rationally to myself... and most of the time it works. As I don't exercise, it makes sense for me to do this, as I know that I won't be working off the extra calories. Now chocolate... well that's a whole 'nother story!! My NY's resolution is to eat less chocolate! Typically I eat the dark, but occasionally it's the milk. Bad

This is what I do as well. I can't stand to drink just plain water. I think the lemon also helps in digestion I used to squeeze a lemon, but now I just buy a bottle of lemon juice. For me, this is more doable/quick this way.
