| There is something wrong with that entire story. I get the impression they aren't telling you everything. |

| "the talk of limited funds made me wonder if the dog was sold for extra money instead..but thats just speculation" hmmm - I would be willing they sold the dog to "make ends meet." But I also wonder if they sold the dog for more than they paid you and maybe realize this could be a money maker for them. Either way, they can't be very bright if they think you would sell them another one of your babies after what they did. I would pursue legal action as well, but that is costly so maybe it isn't an option. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Wow. I would be upset, too. And I definitely wouldn't let them have any more of my pups. I had a horrid thought. Was the pup sold on a spay/neuter contract? Did they "rehome" the pup before the spay/neuter was done to get around that? I hate being so suspicious of people the "can't feed it, but want to buy another dog" story doesn't ad up.

| I'm going to be honest. My very 1st thought when i read all of that is that something has happened to the dog and they are afraid to tell you the truth. I could be wrong though. I hope I am wrong. |

| My thoughts exactly! Sound fishy, and I'd be angry AND disappointed if I were you.

YT Addict | Ok I am in a similar pickle. My friend who I swear gets an animal discovers how much work they are parts with one of the house members and then gets another one. She asked me last night where I got Mia I said and then realized dang it I shouldn't have done that. SO now I feel I should go to the breeder who sold me Mia and explain this is not a great situtaion that she will become passed over at some point. They complain about the hair in the house, the barking, and how much it costs to groom. And to do it right they need a spa treatment ever 2 weeks max. I just don't see the level of dedication there in addition her little girl who is 10 is not easy with them. Mia weighs almost 3# on her birthday night, way to fine boned to get very rough with and not expect injuries. I suspect this is some kind of a bribe or competition with her daughters father. Very sad. I know the puppy could land into a much worse home but can honestly say this would not be a great place gto be, She has adopted from the human e society say a springer spaniel had it for months on end and then decides it is too hyper for her 1500 sq ft home. I told her that one needed to run and have space. SO what should I do or not do. She is my granddaughters mother and has a lot of weight if I get to see her. |

| another puppy I agree, my first thought was they sold the puppy for more than they paid for it and see it as a way to make extra money. You were very right not to give them another puppy. Since your contract said the puppy was to come back to you you do have some options. You said you don't want to sue but sometimes just the mention of it is enough to get action. I would send them a certified letter (looks more official) and tell them they read and signed the contract and it's up to them to get the puppy back to you or you will be going to court. That leaves them having to give what ever money back that they may have made off the puppy. Including the fact that they violated the contract so the puppy comes b ack to you not them. It may be worth a try or at least get you to who has the puppy now. Good luck. |

| I just don't get it. I suppose I never will. Those people should never be allowed to own another animal.

| I don't understand people who look at their animals as something disposable like a TV. I may not have always been the best pet owner, as in when I was younger I was ignorant of some things, but I would never have parted with one of my pets after I had it and I always made sure my dog or cat was comfortable and inside with fresh water and food. I always took them to the vet regularly. I have heard people say, "It's just an animal." and now I reply, "And you're just a human. What's your point?" People who are caught abusing animals should have to be registered like sex offenders and have a sign put in their yard so they can never own an animal again and everyone will know what they are. |

| I wonder if this is really a matter of training or lack of training. It makes no sense at all that anyone would not be able to buy food or pay for routine vaccines and then turn around and ask if they can buy another pup. They even said "well we would like to try again with a better knowledge of preparing for everything." Perhaps they know they went about house-training all wrong and now have a year old dog that is still not house trained. It is not uncommon for a Yorkie owner to wind up with a one year old that still is having accidents. I think house-training problems is the number one rehoming reason for Yorkies. I am betting this has a lot to do with this situation. Of course, they should never get another one of your pups. I would take the contract and reclaim my pup too. You need to establish that you are serious about that portion of your contract and you need to rehome the little one in a home YOU have checked out. It will also give you a chance to see if there is any other reason the owners may not have wanted to keep him.

| Wow that doesn't sound right at all. I would be extremely angry as they breached the contract. It honestly sounds like the puppy didn't turn out how they were expecting, perhaps not trained so they figure they would just start over with a new one. I would demand to know the new owner's contact information. I would then contact them explain the situation, interview them and if the home wasn't suitable take the dog back and sue the first owners. I can't stand the thought of not knowing where my pups go. They could have sold the pup to anyone and who knows what conditions the puppy is in now.
