I don't understand people who look at their animals as something disposable like a TV. I may not have always been the best pet owner, as in when I was younger I was ignorant of some things, but I would never have parted with one of my pets after I had it and I always made sure my dog or cat was comfortable and inside with fresh water and food. I always took them to the vet regularly.
I have heard people say, "It's just an animal." and now I reply, "And you're just a human. What's your point?"
People who are caught abusing animals should have to be registered like sex offenders and have a sign put in their yard so they can never own an animal again and everyone will know what they are.
