| I give you a lot of credit for telling her no when she asked for anothe pup. I have one girl that was a rehome that I took and went back to the original person she was bought from and spoke to them. That person said that my girl was the third or fourth pups she had bought from her and that she continues to get rid of them. I said to her "Then why would you continue to sell a pup to her, knowing that she is just going to rehome the pup shortly after." She said "Well, I thought she learned." We all know it was about another sale. There is no learning. Four pups and you're still selling to that person. Anyway, I give credit to breeders like yourself that will not sell to someone they know is not a good home. As far as expenses go. I would do without before my pup did. My little girl we bought on 12/28 and she was sick since time of purchase. We had the initial outlay for her and then another $523 in vet bills. Am I happy. Nope. Did I really have $523 to hand out in less then ten days of owning the pup. Nope. However, she is my responsibility now so you do what you have to. Don't beat yourself up over it. You asked the right questions and you did your job. You can't read everyone. I know this from experience. There are a lot of good con people out there and even the best of us get taken. Elaine |

| People who are caught abusing animals should have to be registered like sex offenders and have a sign put in their yard so they can never own an animal again and everyone will know what they are.
I think they decided they wanted a different gender or size -- or they lost the puppy and didn't want to admit it to you. What ever it is I am proud of you for standing your ground!!!

Thanks elaine..and i have read about your little girl i hope she is improving more n more..so sorry for that situation you were/are in with those breeders. i try to talk to people alot that are getting puppies..if they dont talk or email me often i feel like they have no interest and i usually tell them no..i gave a deposit back on the last litter because i like the person initally and as time went on i didnt like the way she presented herself to me and how she cared for the dog. and plus google and facebook i was like uh..nope and i gave her the deposit back...she made me a little worried for him. im usually very talkative and chatty about the yorkies and i get really nosey...(my husbands words)... i get concerned with the people obsessed with no accidents in the house and potty training..people with little kids...people like this one that are open and honest about letting one go for training issues or whatever their excuse is and then want another from me...thats a no..how do i know they wont do the same with the new pup... i love repeat buyers but not in that since... i like the ones that want another or they send friends/family to me to meet..i perfer word of mouth any ways people are fickle

| I read this and it really ticked me off! I don't think the entire story was told...has to be more to it. You simply can't not be able to afford one, give it away and then can suddenly afford another. FOR WHAT...to give it away to when times get a little rough! This reminds me of the one that came on here awhile back, she could not get her yorkie potty trained so she gave it away and got another to try again. Yeah, it must just be the dog...right. ERRRR WTH!!

| I really respect all the breeders who offer to take there babies back if things dont work out, just recently i noticed a ad and knew she was a well known breeded who would want her baby back, not only was this person rehomming the pup, she was giving a discount I got in contact immediately and let the breeder know what i discovered, she was so thankful and i was happy to know she would be getting in touch and getting her baby back !! so even though its in your contract people just do what they want with no respect to the breeder its wrong....so sorry this happen to you ~

|
If that was in your purchase agreement, you can sue them and get the dog back.[/QUOTe I would take them to small claims and get my dog back...if it can be dome in small claims...I think so. If I was poor and could not feed my dog, I would give it what I was eating...might not be the ideal diet for a dog, but you do what you gotta do...shoot, my MIL fed her Yorkie I gave her tablescraps of every kind...Pammie live 17 yrs. |

| OP...Its your responsibility to make sure your pups go to a good loving home...if I were you I would be exercising my rights and getting my pup BACK...It doesn't take a lot of money to take someone to small claims court...cause you fill out all the paper work yourself and file. 1 of 2 things will happen 1..you will get your pup back or 2..you will learn the truth of what really happened to your pup and that will give you closure. Please don't let these people get away with what they have done to your pup and you and if they were so quick to rehome him, you can bet your a** they didn't care what kind of home he went to.....someone has to look out for that little guys welfair and you as the breeder should be doing just that.

The only thing is, that this new family had not signed the contract to NOT put it in a shelter. So I guess I would contact the family and explain the situation to them and tell them that they need to sign the contract or you will take them on "Judge Judy" JK to get the puppy back.Sueing does not always mean sueing for money. You can take them to small claims court to get the puppy back. Ellen rehomed a dog that she had gotten from a shelter and the shelter pmade the people give it back.

I think that's a wonderful idea but there might be legal issues. Maybe there is an attorney on the forum that could answer the question of whether or not that' s feasible and how it might be worded or whatever so there would be no problems.

| I would not trust this person to "rehome" a stuffed animal; and I would take them to court for my pup. Period. People ask me why I want to adopt to experienced yorkie owners with a proven track record of good veterinary care to adopt to? This story is why. Is it always fail proof? Perhaps not....but so far, so good.

| The nerve of them rehoming the dog and then calling you for another. Some people have more nerve than brains. I'm glad you said no anyway. They don't deserve to raise a bird or a fish. I don't have alot of money either and although my small dogs are on Health Extension, my big dogs eat Pedagree and my cats eat Friskies because we have alot of them and that's all I can afford. I would sell everything I own before I rehomed my pets. |

I agree fully, I'm in fourth year university, planning on law school.... you can't get more broke than that, BUT my dog is currently eating canned salmon cause the tripe is back ordered, the best quality feed, and in puppy class, I'm eating kraft dinner, and my tuition hasn't been paid until 3 paid cheques from now. THERE is NO excuse on their part. If you didn't want to take action via lawsuit, I would have just told them point blankly, you breached my contract, I will not agree to sell you another pup again. I would have made it clear to them that they did something wrong. You have every right to be angry about this, my breeder would kill me if I were to ever re-home Harley... hence the fact that it'd never happen...
