| WeightWatchers or the Bigest Loser? I'm heavey, would love to do WW. but they don't not have hours I can get too. Doing WW online means to me that I've got less suport. The Bigest Loser books and set seems more reachable atleast to me. I'm seventy pounds over weight with really bad back and bad knees. I'm trying to find something that will help me and not hurt me. I can't afford Jenny Craig. the food cost is way to much. Has anyone used either of them? ty |

| I'm a lifetime member of WW. Nearly 21 years! The program, although always good, has gone through some great changes over the years. I also believe that the biggest loser is a good program also. But WW is the only one I've done and is the one that actually taught me good eating habits to start. The thing I like most about WW is there isn't anything you can't eat. It teaches more portion control than anything. However, they do have 2 programs. One program lets you eat what you want by counting points and the other program limits certain foods, but you don't have to worry as much about portions. It even let's you jump between the two programs (per week) if you want. Being that my eating problems aren't WHAT I eat, it's how much I eat. You can still be overweight by eating too much of the good stuff! WW online has a free 1 week program going on right now. Might as well try it while your deciding. I believe they've even improved it again this year. I hear them advertising a new porgram that helps you choose more filling foods. (can't think what it's called). Good luck! |

| Thanks I signed up for the new free week program from WW and I'm going to use the Biggest Loser videos for at home. Amazon has some really nicely priced videos right now. |

| It's called momentum. My 14 year old daughter lost 20 lbs in 3 months. She was just a little overweight and really learned how to eat smart if you know what I mean. She knows how to make good choices. She is still a kid afterall and still has her cake and ice cream but she knows when to stop. Her pediatrician recommended it. It really worked for her. I, of coarse, went to all the meetings with her. She was not alone. I also learned how to cook, not only for her but for all of us, a little healthier.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | i've done weight watchers a few times and lost weight each time. In the beginning of this year i tried the biggest loser program. i signed up for the online thing, purchased the books, and used it for about a week.... wasted my money on that one. it is a great system but it didn't have the support that WW did. With WW i paid to go to meetings so i felt i had to attend. And since i was weighing in every week i made it a point to make sure i had a negative number to put down each time.

So keep up the exercise. It really does matter on the days when you go a little overboard.

| I started Weight Watchers in the end of March, I went to like 3 meetings then quit going to them and I just do it on my own (my mom bought me all the WW books). At the beginning, I was around almost 100 lbs overweight. So far when I weighed the other day, I had lost a total of 23 lbs. That's without doing a lot of exercising. I only did WW because my mom did it and she seen such awesome results but then quit and gained it all back, now we're doing it together and for good!

I too don't go to the weekly meetings. When WW changed their program about 3 years ago I got the "at home" program so that I could get all the books, etc. without having to go the weekly meeting. The only reason I don't go though is unfortunately the current meeting instructor in my hometown isn't very motivating. That's the only reason. Losing weight is a lifelong journey as it's not something you can simply do for a week or a month or even a year. You've got to make the changes for the remainder of your life! This is why WW is such a great program (IMO). Because there isn't a single food out their you can't eat. Your given weekly points to spend (like money) and away you go. Don't hesitate to add the exercise. I suspect eventually you will have to anyway as you will hit a plateau and the only way over it will be to add some exercise. Not to mention it makes you feel stronger and better about yourself. it also makes you look thinner than the scale reflects because it "tightens" everything up. Keep at it because it sounds as if you are off to an excellent start!

| WW is the best program ever, the best thing is that you can actually cook for your whole family with the diet because it actually isnt a diet its a new way of life.. just healthy..... WW usually has times on the weekends after work and in the middle of the day.. I know I can drive 10 minutes and there is a meeting somewhere that can accomdate me... I honestly think the online thing is great but there is nothing like the meetings... |

| If anyone is looking for good videos to start out with you might want to try the Taebo T3 program. I love it, i started using it a couple weeks ago. It starts out with 3 different workouts that you alternate for a month and they are only 10-12 minutes each! This helps your body gear up for the longer workouts that you do after 4 weeks (the program includes 3 long workouts too). The short workouts still make you sweat a lot and you feel it in your muscles the next day but I don't wake up unable to function because the workout is too much for me. I've been doing WW on and off for the past year or so. I think it's harder for me because I'm not overweight and only wanted to lose 15 lbs. I've only lost 6 lbs so far but that's because I'll do it for a week then quit. I started back on it on Monday so I'm going to try my hardest to lost the last 10 or so pounds.
