As for whether to have one or two areas of the world meet up...why don't we plan for 2, at different times, then whoever CAN travel to the farther one, as well as the one closest to them, can do both? Those who cannot aren't missing out if they can go to one closer to them. I for one, would try to make both!

great! i definilty agree with two different dates... just no one has said they'll do the WEST and i'm not sure it is fair for me to say i'll do EAST and leave those in the west with nothing... so if someone will do west.. id be more for having two on two dates... HEY.. do you want to do it

I just cast my vote - but was also thinking a committee or committees would be really helpful to start to get everything organized once you have decided on location(s). 1 year is not that far if you have enough people attending and space reservations are required. Also, if there ended up being two with a huge turnout, the following year could be centralized!

Heehee! Why did I figure you might ask that?!? Well I am WEST for sure....I can't say I'm the best planner, so I would hate to take it on and then have a boring meetup-lol! Someone guide me and I may take it on...

Okay, what about the central US? Like Tulsa, OK (there are tons of convention areas, dog friendly hotel, big city airport, etc) OR Springfield or St. Louis, MO....OR Dallas/Ft. Worth area (another big city airport, tons of hotels, etc).

The $5 cover charge wouldn't be bad......would venders pay more for a booth?

I am sure there are plenty of hotels w/ a nice big meeting/convention area that we could rent and hopefully everyone that needs to can stay at the same hotel.

Regarding a theme....hummm.....the Hawaiian one looked fun, but maybe we could do a YT theme....or the PJ one sounds cute too. OR how about a "nude" party....oh wait, that wouldn't work for us humans...sorry!

I live in New York City and I think everyone should come here, there are sooo many places that are dog friendly, There is Central Park, which is huge, dog parks, yorkie meet-ups, etc. If not I am willing to travel any time, I would love to meet YT people!

A camping resort would be nice....would they have a large enough "room" for everyone and booths? Although, renting the cabins would be more expensive then a hotel room. BUT I love that idea!

I still say central.....Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri (there are big cities there) and the drive time would be short or shorter for several in quiet a few states.

I would be willing to carpool and to have people follow me.

I only asked about the booth rental, because most places I have been, charged to have a booth and that helped pay for the costs of the event. AND sometimes this would either be people get in free or people paid. I am willing to do either.....The other reason for the charge...this gets the business name out there and a bigger client base too. I've had several personal businesses and paying a small fee to set up to sell, wasn't a big deal.

Looking forward to hearing all the ideas!!! YAY!

Okay, I made an error, I voted Illinois before reading all the post...But I still like the idea of one central location instead of 2 east/west. But maybe that's because I'm more central and more likely to go if I didn't have to travel to one coast or the other. But I'm just one vote...

The idea of a vendor booth charge is standard business practice. But, things need to be looked at financially too. If you split it into two groups would there be enough vendors to pay for 2 YT convention locations?

I would definately try.
Being in California it really makes it tough to go very far without flying.
The West one would be nice in Lake Tahoe...always good weather!
