| Oh yeah I didn't mean that. I like to think I'm a good owner but I rarely take her to stores other then pet stores.

| Please show me where I said that. It is not something I recall...and I just looked back and don't see it. So, no, it is not all good right now because I want to know where you read that.

| Maybe that wasn't you? I'm sorry if it wasn't. Both of my comments were misdirected if so.

It's just not the lifestyle I personally live with my dog. But it's also easier only having one dog and no kids to live that way. But "not seeing a need for them in stores" is your opinion. The area becoming more dog friendly is a positive thing for us. Jackson drives me crazy if he doesn't get out of the house for a few days. But it could just be that he was raised that way so he's used to it. But even a little ride up to the bank or the store can 'satisfy' him for the day and he comes home and will chill. Whereas when he's been at home for 3-4 days with little to no exercise, and never leaving house at all, he can get a bit needy. But he's an extremely active high energy dog. My dads dogs are for the most part content to lounge around the house and run in the yard occasionally -though they do get bored too sometimes so we will take them somewhere every once in a while.

| I find it intriguing that in so many other countries, dogs being around all over is just a normal every day occurrance. I remember reading a travel site of a woman who went to... Italy? I believe with her dog and when she would call to ask if her dog was allowed, most of the time they were confused and met with a "duh! of course they are!" response. Apparently you see dogs curled around tables at pubs/restaurants/etc all the time, on trains, buses, etc. I believe one of the reasons so many dogs are misbehaved in the US is because likely 90% of dogs in the US never leave their own yard and house. Again, NOT saying it's "bad" or "cruel" in any way. Just an observation.

I took a video a while ago with us practicing, as I like to do every once in a while just to 'freshen up' - of course the phone died too early, but you get the idea... lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKoxF4NNuf0 But Jax has gone his whole life with walking in stores and public places, it just comes so natural to him. I always feel for for the dogs who cower, or are extremly fearful, or barking/lunging etc because it's just a scary thing for them.

| I pretty much take Piper everywhere I go; we've been to BigLots, Lowe's, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, DollarTree, Payless, pet stores (of course)...I do, however, carry her while browsing these stores (although I allow her to cruise Lowes & Home Depot if not busy). So far we've been accepted...Gotta say, however, when we arrive at store, Piper weighs about 8 lbs, by the time we leave, she seems to weigh more like 30! |
