Exactly! I know plenty of perfectly content and well taken care of dogs that don't see much besides their house and backyard. That's fine.
It's just not the lifestyle I personally live with my dog. But it's also easier only having one dog and no kids to live that way. But "not seeing a need for them in stores" is your opinion. The area becoming more dog friendly is a positive thing for us.
Jackson drives me crazy if he doesn't get out of the house for a few days. But it could just be that he was raised that way so he's used to it. But even a little ride up to the bank or the store can 'satisfy' him for the day and he comes home and will chill. Whereas when he's been at home for 3-4 days with little to no exercise, and never leaving house at all, he can get a bit needy. But he's an extremely active high energy dog. My dads dogs are for the most part content to lounge around the house and run in the yard occasionally -though they do get bored too sometimes so we will take them somewhere every once in a while.
