I can appreciate your feelings when you make the uncle comparison, but because I do not equate humans and dogs on a similar level I cannot lie to you and say I feel it's the same. Because I don't. You do, and that's fine. We have a different opinion, and that should be okay.

Another point I want to make...I am not someone who takes my dog places! That doesn't mean she has a bad life! But do I take her to stores? No! Events? No! I just don't feel the need to. It is not as if Cali sits around thinking "Man, I'd sure like to go to an outdoor concert tonight..." She's a dog!

She gets treats, walks, played with, groomed, new toys regularly, and paid attention to constantly.

I may not have the same ideas as you do about what a dog's life should be, but that doesn't mean I'm not dog friendly or my dog would have a sad life because of it.

But what I am saying dosent mean I equate them to humans. A dog saved my life and they have always giving me unconditional love so I feel I own them. Dogs have yet to let me down the way humans have. I do think that in the sense of it being used as a tool your uneducated or at least were and I hope you can see how it can be a useful tool not just a treating dogs like human or dolls thing.

The way you said crate rest should be would be a sad life. My dog dearly enjoys going out to places even if it's sitting in a parking lot watching people so for my dog it would be sad for her to just stop going places. It really honestly no exaggeration would have killed her to stay in a crate for 11 weeks no sunshine and stuff.

I love my dogs, but I also do not take them out with me except to the pet store on occasion. I already have a 3 year old to lug around with me everywhere I go, take 2 dogs with me is not my idea of fun. I also do not "go out" very often so they are not usually left alone for long hours and I don't work, but if I had to be out they would have to stay home. I also think people like us with small dogs think it's okay to take our dogs everywhere we go because they are so small and can be carried, but what about people with large dogs like Pit Bulls or Great Dane. They can't carry their dogs around and take them everywhere so does that me their not dog friendly.

Also, I didn't mean to imply that you thought dogs were human. I guess I was trying to get across my own personal feelings. My dogs are important to me too. My lab especially helped me through some anxiety issues.

I am not being personal at all. Merely responding to your comments.

Crate rest does not really mean that the pup must be in a crate. They simply don't want them running amok. Strollers are perfectly acceptable.

As to the comment about your comment...I simply said I didn't care for it, but it is your opinion. Not sure why you think that is personal ??

You just touched on something I was thinking. I have two small kids myself, and adding Cali into the mix would just be awful. Plus she is not a good traveler at all! I also do not work so she definitely isn't a lonely dog, but I cannot imagine toting her around if I did work.

I agree with your point about large dogs. Can you imagine if everyone took their huge dogs into stores? Yikes! Plus it wouldn't be very hygienic since most large dogs shed. I know every big dog I know sheds terribly!

It was a lab mix that helped me massively with depression and saved me she was our first dog a rescue. My yorkie has helped a lot with my anxiety and stuff majorly. Dogs are amazing.

They are! I can't even explain why my lab helped me. All I know is for months I was up all night long obsessing, unable to sleep, having panic attacks. As soon as we adopted her and she started sleeping next to me I was able to sleep. I don't even know why!
