| We get snubbed sometimes but I like to de-snub. Sometimes I see people with what appears to be a "standard Yorkie" approach us and make a disapproving face. I'll usually say very loudly "Max look! That doggy looks just like you!" Then they'll generally say "no, mine is a Yorkie". Oh yes, so is mine Then there are people who think their mixed breed dog looks just like Max. Yesterday it was a Yorkie/Schnauzer mix who looked nothing like Max except for floppy ears. Max is a 16 pound very tall and long floppy eared Yorkie. Cooper is just cute but nobody know what breed he is so he doesn't get snubbed. He's a morkie.

| I remember very well the time I was snubbed. I was at a dog show and I had one of mine with me. I was snubbed by the Show people. I have also been snubbed by people when they saw my Allie, because she has a tail, they called her mutt.

| Nope We live in the country on the "Hundred Acre Wood" with just the birds, trees, butterflies and cows. We don't have a park to run and play with other dogs so in all fairness I really shouldn't say yes or no. When I have Coco with me when we are out running errands or going to the pet store people comment on how cute she is and only once has anyone asked me what breed she is. Even though se is 11lbs and not a smaller yorkie, most people recognize what breed she is. I did see a teeny tiny yorkie in petsmart and the owner looked at me and I looked at her and smiled but she kept on walking. She was very young herself and her yorkie was a baby so that may have been the reason for her not returning my smile (inexperience) But, some people are just snobs and it doesn't matter that they own a yorkie. They were taught that way by their family or they desired to develop that type of attituted. Either way, I figure that's their problem and I feel sorry for them that they live that way and don't seem to really enjoy life and this beautiful world we live in |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Well I've never been snubbed when out walking Razzman. Not exactly. When he was in wraps and had his wrapping jacket on, sometimes I would get oh, how cute that outfit is. And what are those things/ sometimes they say curlers in his hair But when we walk the big boy and the little one, mostly who rushes up, and cars stop is to admire the big dog. I did have at the swimming park an incident, I was playing fetch with Razzle in the water, Magic was in his crate. I got the "rat" remark, and well at least that ankle biter does something. I smiled and said, he is a fine swimmer isn't he. Then I put Razzle away, and out comes Magic. I said perhaps this one is more your "cup of tea". THe man backed up quickly..... He said Whoah, that is one big dog. Yup he is. He sort of stumbled and said; he is gorgeous. Thanks I replied, he fetches too

| I went to a meet up in Irvine. We met at the man made lake.. Not sure what it was called. I went with my friend Shana- who has a Yorkie /Pom mix. We noticed a group of ladies gathered around, they had all Yorkies. All of them were girls, all of their yorkies were dressed up.. Like real fancy. That day was hot so Peanut- and Todd were nakie. Well we walked up to them and were kinda waiting for them to say something to us... Nope, nothing. They pretty much ignored us. We went over to sit down, they all started walking over and one girl came up to us and asked if we were in the meet up- I said Yes, she asked us if we wanted to go to lunch with them. I told her No, we were going to pass. I told her next time I will make sure we dress Pnut and Todd up as females since it looks like that is what they are into. I just had a really bad feeling about it. They all had their Yorkies dressed up in tutu's and the ladies had their LV bags and typical Irvine style. Give me a break- I could care less about that crap... Anyone can buy that crap! How I took it in they didnt come talk to us because Pnut and Todd were not all dressed up, they were not females, they didnt have a full coat, and obviously we didnt carry our LV bag to go to a park.

| Not, central ca. Everyone I run into loves my little guys. Ran into two seperate yorkie owners at vet, one with a tiny 3 lb other standard size. Both were friendly and chatted a bit. Always at park or walking my boys people stop to make comments about how cute they are. |

Yorkie Yakker | Wow - I know we have a special breed but I never met anyone who snubbed me, but then again I probably wouldn't notice. Most people think they are cute my wife tells me that they are a "chick magnet" when I go out in public with them. I have heard that sometimes owners can be elitist but I ignore all that and just love my little guys!! BTW your little one is beautiful!! Ignore anyone like that because it not worth fretting over it!!

| So seems about 50/50. I got a polite snub yesterday, and Uni wasn't even with me! This one restaurant that I go to often, the guy there knows me, and he's seen Uni before. I was wearing my yorkie t shirt (yeah I have one, what?) and he said, oh I thought that was your dog on your shirt! And I said oh no, but I have a friend and her dog looks JUST like this pic (Kaji ) and he goes on to say, But you know what kind of dog my sister really wants is a yorkie. So obviously Uni and Kaji aren't yorkies. Quote:

As far as people, I've had mixed responses. Most people have been friendly. I will say though...there is a lady down the road who has yorkies, and while she hasn't been rude, she hasn't been overly friendly either. I had envisioned yorkie play dates while my older male was the only yorkie of the house... I knew he was missing other yorkies...and she would just wave and walk on by though. So we just had to go get my little guy playmate of his own and now we are the happy house of 2 yorkies | |

I was thinking more in terms of the weird places we walk, places where I'm not expecting other pets.

| I guess my gripe is that we get snubbed by people who think their yorkie is "better" than Uni. Or they think Uni is a mix or not a yorkie at all, so they don't want to talk to us. I usually talk to anyone with a dog, yorkie or not!
