| ![]() I have been keeping up with your thread and thinking of you. The new friends that you have made here will never tire of hearing about Cosmo. Those of us here on YT understand what it is to loose a furfriend. A year ago I lost Bunkey (4.5 lb poodle) her was the light of my life. I thought that I would never stop hurting and could not even function. All I could do was cry. The loss effected me so deeply that my husband insisted that I get a new baby. All of the feelings that you have described is exactly how I felt. Then Mina came into my life, she is nothing like Bunkey. Our relationship is still being built into something special. It may sound silly but I have spent time talking to her and telling her about Bunkey. She looks at me with understanding eyes as though she knows the pain that I went through. As though she is saying "I understand and I can be your little girl" I will keep praying that your heart will not hurt as much and that, when you are ready, the perfect little friend will be there to help in the healing. |

![]() ![]() You research your breeder, get you a reputable breeder, and you will have a healthy puppy, whose parents/line has been followed closely for any genetic issues, tested, and the breeder will feel for her babies exactly as you do....for the lifetime of that baby, not just til the ink is dry on the check. When you have found a breeder that is so dedicated to the babies she produces, she will have your next baby! Your biggest enemy at this moment, is "time"....DO NOT RUSH INTO THIS.....take your time.....you wont loose your nerve or your desire for another little devoted soul to share your heart with. You take your time and find a breeder you can trust.....get references from this breeders vet, groomer, etc....not so much "friends", because unethical people can get "friends" to lie for them....if you find someone you think sounds good, put her name out on here and you will find out in a hurry, if this group would support that person, or if they know something about this person you need to know!......take your time, do your research, it will happen for you and it will be a GLORIOUS thing!!!!!!!! | |

| ![]() When I finally had to have my Shih Tzu put down a couple of years ago I did not even consider having another dog at first. I had always encouraged people to go out and get another animal after a loss as there are always so many poor creatures out there needing someone to love and care for them. But I had lived with my little guy for 15 years and could not consider starting all over again with a puppy. How could I replace perfection? I went several months before the inkling of having another dog started to hit me. I slowly let the idea buzz around in me and it grew until I decided to look for a smaller adult dog. When I couldn't find one of those in my area I had to consider getting a puppy. By then I felt like I was going through withdrawals! Take your time. You are never going to replace Cosmo but you can have some fun doing research on breeders and different lines. You will have time to prepare yourself for having a puppy in the house and all the challanges that you will face with a baby in the house. You will find the right one but please be careful and do your research. Don't hurry into a purchase that could cause big regrets later on. |

| ![]() I'm so sorry for the loss of your sweet little dog. My heart is breaking for you. It takes a while to grieve the loss of a beloved pet. They're our family! We lost our little Dabny in November. It took a while to actually want another dog but our house was so quiet. We just got a little yorkie poo 2 weeks ago. I found myself searching the internet and ads and I finally just decided to go for it. Bailey will never replace dabny he was one of a kind but we have already fallen in love with our new puppy. You will know when you're ready to get another dog. Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. take care. |

| ![]() I just read this thread also and want to add my condolences to everyone else's. I had to make the tough decision to send my little Chelsea, a Sheltie, across the bridge in early April after almost 15 years together. I was a wreck...cried non stop the first 2 days. My husband and I talked about getting another dog but not until the fall. In preparation I began doing some research into different breeds as we wanted a small dog. I found my Jack-Jack almost one month to the day after losing Chelsea. I took a step back and really thought about it for 2 weeks but couldn't get his little face out of my mind so I took the leap. I am SO thankful I did. He is a little ray of sunshine and already has his place in our family. You will know when the time is right for you. There is no replacement for your sweet Cosmo but there is another piece of your heart that needs to find it's perfect furry match. Good luck to you.... Jeannea |

| ![]() Hey everyone thanks for being such a great support group, its always worse at night time when i miss him him the most. I have started researching a breeder named "Almost Heaven Biewers/Cloverdale yorkies" has anyone heard of them? I also have spoken with "Exquisite Biewers" Does anyone have any experience with either? I dont want to rush into it but I'm getting a little panicked since I would like to have a new baby by the fall (my daughter starts kindergarten and I will be home alone all day) |

| ![]() I cried reading your post. I feel for you deeply. It took me 10 years to get another dog after my Dusty died....I cried every time I thought or spoke about him for years. I now have had another yorkie for 8 years that brings my heart so much happiness; she is the princess of the house. I know a day will come when she is no longer here and I will feel that god awful pain once again. God bless you and your broken heart. |

Just to let you know my little girl in the avatar is from Greens Treasured Yorkies. She was sent from MI to NJ with a courier. She sat in a little bag next to the courier.

Zachary's Mom Donating Member | ![]() I have had to put down TWO in the last two years, one with cancer and one with old age complications. The last was about a month ago...she was 15. We have 6 dogs as of now. Had 5 after McGee was sent to Rainbow Bridge but my husband got me a Biewer Yorkie Puppy for Mom's Day. One furbaby cannot take the place of one you have lost. Each one is it's own special angel. But having another or like me other dogs around helps to ease the pain. You will know when it is time to get another one. Prayers and thoughts, Louise |
