| I've answered this in a PM, but as far as calling Animal Control, it's not going to happen. I have a personal experience with them in the past through attempted volunteer work as well as a conversation with the President of the organization. They are on the Humane Society's radar after having killed 175 animals in 1 day to make room for more. They WILL kill this dog. I just noticed that the backyard of their house is somewhat fenced in. My house faces the front of their house, so I was only able to tell by sneaking around. The house is fenced on 3 sides but still allows for the dog to escape through the front. I created my own inexpensive makeshift fence for my boys that I built myself. This could be a super simple solution for them. Nobody is home today. Gosh, I would even allow them to drop their dog off at my house if they need to when they go to work.

| Wow! Why would anyone take a chance on their dog being lost/hurt? No collar? Yeesh. I would talk to her and tell her that as a fellow yorkie owner you can attest to how fast and curious they are. Just start talking to her, tell her you belong to yorkie talk, and get into detail a little bit about some of the stories you have heard here. Maybe that will A--get her to come here and read up on yorkies. B--scare her a bit into caring for her little one a little better. You could also try telling her, "I know how rascally these babies can be, I've tried using...blank" and see what her response is. You never know, it may just be a case of not thinking very much on her part of the dangers of allowing a yorkie free range. Good luck!

| hm... this family, what is their first language? since the members of yorkietalk is literally from all over the world i'm pretty sure one of us could construct a letter that you can give it to them to let them know that you are concern about their baby.

| I think I have a better idea of what I'm dealing with here. I saw a woman and man across the street get into a pickup truck with the woman holding the dog in the front seat. Both were smoking cigarettes with the windows closed.

| These are the dogs owners... Terrible. I don't blame you for not wanting to call animal control. An unaltered male dog is going to wander. Those neighbors of yours do not care about their dog at all . I think I would have a hard time not keeping their dog in this case. Maybe pay them a little . Have the yorkie fixed, and adopt him.

| I have heard many stories from people before that didn't seem to really care about their dogs. "I gave him away" "Oh it ran away." "They raised tuition and my dog got sick so I put him down." etc etc. Just take the damn dog. They'll just think he really did run away, which he WILL do since he is most likely not neutered and seems like they are the type that won't neuter him. He WILL eventually run away. At least if you take him he won't get hit by a car.

These owners obviously don't give a hoot about this baby or they would at least keep it safe.Sorry, but I have become a little impatient in my old age. Thank you AllDogBoots for caring enough to try to help this poor little baby.

| I understand you can't just steal the dog. Maybe they want the dog but just don't want to give him the proper care. Maybe they don't know any better and think he has a good home, kind of like some people with their children. I pray this dog doesn't get killed. If someone else found him running the streets they may keep him or try to sale him. Praying for you that you can find a solution to help this baby. Maybe they would like money more than the dog.

| I just took Cooper on a special walk because he felt neglected that Max went to the groomer. As we were headed home, the Yorkie ran across the street to greet us! Mom was on the front lawn at the time. Cooper met him (Bentley) and then we walked over to Mom together. I mentioned to her that I see Bentley running around both of our yards a lot. She said that the "damn kids" are supposed to keep him in the backyard. I've seen the kids and they are probably around 5, maybe 7 at the most. I asked if the back of the yard was fenced in and she said there's a chain link fence in the back and he only gets through the front. There is a neighbor on one side of her that has a 6' wood fence up that he can't get through. There are very thick bushes on the other side that he can't get through. I told her that I fenced in the open areas of my yard with really cheap wrought iron gates that I bought from Lowes and that she should do that on both sides of the house to block off the front. It would be about 10 feet in each direction and they are so easy to install. She said it was a good idea and she'll talk to her boyfriend about it. I told her I was going to Lowes tomorrow to pick up some floor cleaner and I could pick up the materials for her. Just to comment on some suggestions: I am not stealing the dog. I definitely don't think it's the right thing to do. I'm not going to save one dog so she can do this to another. I prefer helping her and trying to explain a little about the breed. I doubt I got through to her as a caring dog owner but it's possible she may put up the fence.

As to your last paragraph, I totally agree. He would be replaced by another if this one disappeared.

| I hope I didn't offend you by thinking you would actually steal her dog, bad choice of words. I think it is best that you are trying to help her. That is kind of you to offer to help her with the fence. Maybe they will think about it, they may have to contact the owner of the house hoping he would reimburse them for the work they do.

Oh, and maybe you haven't seen my makeshift fence in any of my photos or videos. The owner may have to charge them! It's so ugly.
