Default Update!

I just took Cooper on a special walk because he felt neglected that Max went to the groomer. As we were headed home, the Yorkie ran across the street to greet us! Mom was on the front lawn at the time. Cooper met him (Bentley) and then we walked over to Mom together. I mentioned to her that I see Bentley running around both of our yards a lot. She said that the "damn kids" are supposed to keep him in the backyard. I've seen the kids and they are probably around 5, maybe 7 at the most. I asked if the back of the yard was fenced in and she said there's a chain link fence in the back and he only gets through the front. There is a neighbor on one side of her that has a 6' wood fence up that he can't get through. There are very thick bushes on the other side that he can't get through.

I told her that I fenced in the open areas of my yard with really cheap wrought iron gates that I bought from Lowes and that she should do that on both sides of the house to block off the front. It would be about 10 feet in each direction and they are so easy to install. She said it was a good idea and she'll talk to her boyfriend about it. I told her I was going to Lowes tomorrow to pick up some floor cleaner and I could pick up the materials for her.

Just to comment on some suggestions: I am not stealing the dog. I definitely don't think it's the right thing to do. I'm not going to save one dog so she can do this to another. I prefer helping her and trying to explain a little about the breed. I doubt I got through to her as a caring dog owner but it's possible she may put up the fence.
