Ooo my first post! My Roxie is 2 yrs old and 2 lb 14 ounces. I'm a little sad that I won't be able to breed her due to size, but I do love her perma-puppy smallness. LOL.

Miss Tati is 7 pounds...but shouldn't be that heavy...she is a little porker but we love her fat and all. Bella is weighing in at 2 pounds 12 ounces right now and she is 19 weeks old. She is suppose to be around 3 pounds full grown. I love how tiny she is, but she is so much more fragile then my Tati that I find myself holding my breath all the time with her, especially since she tends to be a little dare devil, leaped straight off the couch to my husband as he walked in the door yesterday, he caught her midair, and we both had to settle our hearts down, I didn't even see it coming, I was sitting right there, just didn't expect it!

I hope he doesn't get any bigger but he possibly will since he loves to eat and is ALWAYS hungry! His breeder said he should top out at 5# but he's bigger than that, bigger than both his parents too.

| Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Wow, I guess sometimes it really is hard to tell the size a yorkie will be when they grow up. Especially if dogs from the same litter turned out all different sizes - from 4lb to 11lbs. The breeder I got Lewie from decided to keep the smallest girl from his litter. But who knows, maybe she'll turn out growing bigger after all. As for Lewie he's 2lbs right now at 12 weeks. But he's surely growing bigger each week. Then again, his fur is so thick and fluffy. My other yorkie is 1.5years and she's about 6lbs. Yorkie's are nicely proportionate so whether they're larger, they still look perfect! I would probably have a hard time carrying a 12-15lber though. So 6lbs is a good size for me.

It is hard to determine how big they will get. My guy came home at 1lb. 8oz. he was so tiny. Now he ranges between 9.6 - 10.4 lbs. Winter time he usually gains a little. His parents were both under 7 lbs. You just can't tell, some times they get a little bigger. But I have to say he is so much fun and tough, I don't have to worry about my kids around him. They take him in the back yard and play with him for hours and he can handle it.

My 1 yr old girl weighs 5.6 lbs. Her parents were both 4 lbs and tiny. I've been told shes a larger yorkie but shes VERY skinny. You just never know how they will turn out until they get there. I've read that the size of the parents doesn't always determine the size of the pups. I understand where you are coming from and I don't think you sound shallow as everyone wants to get what they pay for. Unfortunately, with a puppy, it just can't be guarenteed. I don't think you've been dooped by the breeder. It may very well be a first. Just know that if you are already in love with your baby, you will love her no matter how big she gets!!
