| My friends' yorkie, Jaxson is 14lbs. He is on a special diet, but seems to stay the same weight. He is so heavy!!! But he is adorable just the same! ![]()

| Thor's Human Donating Member | To be fair to the OP, she was looking for a dog within "the standard". However, as you said, it may end up working out for the better if he is a little larger than you expected. Thor is four lbs, and he is invariably the smallest dog we see in the dog parks. Even at yorkie meet ups, he is usually the smallest adult. Any time we go for a walk, someone says he's the smallest dog they've ever seen. What I want to know is, where are all the "teacups"? They are supposed to be popular, but we never meet any.

| Mac is 2 1/2 yrs and weight is 7lbs. Maci is 27 weeks and weight is 6lbs. But there is a huge size difference. Maci in comparison to Mac looks sooo small. I tried to post a pic of the size difference vs their weight but they are too pre-occupied with fighting to sit still and pose for a picture. I was really thinking Maci weight was more like 4lbs..I guess she is just solid(Big boned girl) whereas Mac has longer skinny legs..

| Well my male is about 7-8 lbs and my female is about 3 lbs and they are both about 8 months old. It just so funny looking at the size difference. I love them both but i got a closer bond with my big boy cause he is soooooooo loveable and he only really likes me lol. |

| I thought I wanted a teeny dog before I got Hiro. I wanted one that was like 3-4 pounds grown. I quickly decided that a healthy 10lbs of baby was better for me. I'm still worried about Hiro jumping up and down off the couch and chair, etc because he's still small - but at least he's solid. I heard somewhere that the #1 injury in small dogs is broken front legs. I can see that happening to him... and I can't even imagine how worried some of the other owners are here. Especially the ones around 5lbs and less. I know breed standard is supposed to be between 5-7 (?) but that's still too small for me. Hmm.. I like my men solid too. haha Maybe that's where it comes from.

| Rory was 2 pounds, 10 ounces at 11 weeks, and her parents were 4 and 5 pounds. I never thought she'd end up at 12 pounds though! We love her just the same, but I am more educated about the breed now and would never use that breeder again. She is happy, healthy and actually fairly thin if you can believe that! ![]() I do understand your frustration though. I wanted a dog that would be easy to travel with, etc. Thankfully, we got her used to a bag early, and she loves to be in her GIANT bag, but it's not so easy on my arm. ![]() I just looked at the estimated growth chart. According to it, Rory should have been 6 pounds, and she doubles it! How strange!

| Jesse is going to be a big girl. She weighed 2 lbs. 9 ozs. at 6 weeks & she now weighs 4 lbs. at 9 weeks! I am glad, though, because her brother is a six year old boxer that weighs 70 lbs. Her parents weigh 7 lbs. & 8 lbs. I asked the vet if she was overweight...she just laughed & said that she is the size thast she is supposed to be... Jesse is such a joy!!! |

| Fancy was 2 lbs 12 ozs at the vet 2 weeks ago. She is 5 months old, so I don't think she is going to get much bigger. She has skinny legs and a small head, she is just a dainty girl. If she didn't have all that hair she would look a lot smaller!

| We have two little puppies named Mo-Jo and Marcie. Marcie looks dainty, Mo-Jo looks sturdy and heavier. However when we would take them to the vet, they weighed the same! The difference was in the coat. Marcie had a wiry thin coat and Mo-Jo had a thick heavy coarse coat. My husband shaved Mo-Jo today and we are in shock!! Mo-Jo is 2 pounds after the shaving so he lost 1 pound of hair!! Marcie weighs 3 pounds! They are littermates and exactly 6 months old this week. Father was 2 1/2 pounds and Mother was 5 pounds. We love them!! This is the first time we have had two at the same time. It is so much fun to watch them play! Poddytraining is another issue!!![]() Sandy |

| My 2 year old is 5 lbs and the little guy we had before him Corky) was around 6 lbs. His weight, at one time, ballooned to 10 lbs and the vet put him on a diet until he was back to 6. Yours may suddenly stop putting on weight but just be thankful she is healthy. Lorraine

| My breeder told me there is not a recognized thing as a "tea cup". What greedy "breeders" do is breed 2 tiny 2 lb yorkies and then they get these so called "teacups" which is not good. These little 2 pounders are too small to have puppies. I heard these teacups have alot of problems. Usually when a reputable breeder has a tiny one in the litter they willl keep it. No offense to anyone with a "teacup" but this is what I was told.

| My Travis just went to the vet. last week and when they weighed him he weighed in at 13.4lbs. So yes he's a very big boy BUT I love him like crazy, he's so lovable, and affectionate. He's also very SMART. I'm glad that he is the size that he is because I have two boys 8 & 9 yrs. old and they love playing with him so I wouldn't trade him for NOTHING!

| Pao was 5lbs at 12 weeks old. He is fully grown at 10lbs so the growth chart was very accurate for my case. I love to bring him out as well and sneak him in to places in his bag. He is quite heavy for my shoulder to carry for an hour or two but he is really quiet in it, wouldn't even move so that works for me. He enjoys looking at other people and stores from inside his and will occasionally fall asleep lol. Other than the fact that he is quite heavy on my shoulder, he is a perfect size for me. One day, I will save enough for a stroller and that will save my shoulder lol.
