| Ok, you have also said your boyfriend, husband or whatever does similar acts, it's sick that you defend them. Your rolling the eyes icon makes me sick. This forum is called Yorkie Talk, a forum for pet lovers, not human pet abusers. |

Thor's Human Donating Member | ... wow. Carmen came asking for help taking care of her pet. I PM'd her and said not to worry about how heated her thread got because everything would blow over. Looks like I was wrong. I don't know if I've just been drawn to the most controversial threads recently, but it seems like everywhere I look, there has been a lot of anger and not much effort at kindness. I'm putting MYSELF on a 24 hour timeout from YT. I want to come on here to see cute pictures, laugh at our animals and maybe learn a thing or two. I don't want to see yorkie OR human abuse!

I would also like to say that I do not abuse Chloe. She is treated very well and I started the other thread to ask for advice from others on how to get her not to steal things off of the floor when they drop. Well we have taught her by using other methods than spanking. (Like I said, my fiance hasn't had a dog before, so it took some time for him to learn what is wrong and right) He learned quickly that spanking is wrong and will not help. We used a firm "NO" and taking it away quickly, and it has worked wonders. Anyway, I don't think I should have to lay out my entire thread here for you to understand. It's sad that you put in your post "Yorkies first". It makes me wonder if you put your dog relationships in front of your human relationships. Do you even have any human relationships? I'm sorry if this is rude, but I figure someone has got to say it. If you are willing to share your "kindness" with Yorkie owners and lovers, why are you being so hostile towards me? I never once said that I agreed with spanking or globemaster's techniques of training. Honestly, if you look back..go ahead..nothing. All I was saying is that what globemaster is doing (rubbing his face...) was once considered acceptable, and certainly does not automatically set him up for failure once/if he has children. Sorry if this is rude and offends you, and sorry globemaster for hijacking your thread for my rant! I am also going to take a 24 hour time out from YT.

Please, are you serious about my other relationships, give me a break. I say yorkies first on this forum. This is called Yorkie Talk, duh!! I mean, I place yorkies before selfish *&&^$%% I have children, a husband, family and many friends. If I was ever in a relationship with someone who abused my dogs, my kids or my loved ones I would have to pass. I'm sorry if you are not at that point in life or agree. You may try to cut me down, but I'm sorry I have never defended an animal abuser ever on this forum. Why was I hostile towards you, you are the one rolling your eyes, defending abusers. I can say a lot of abusive behaviors were acceptable at one time in history, slaves, racism... Does not mean it's ok in this day and age and excusable.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Globemaster, I have followed this thread since it began and must say that I have been concerned about its tone several times including my own contribution now that I've read how it may have come across. One of the major problems with posting online is that you cannot convey tone or inflection and oftentimes words taken at face value do not adequately convey the intention of the writer. (As an aside, my husband and I married in our 30's...late 30's for him, mid-30's for me... and first marriageis for both of us. To say that we were set in our ways is putting it mildly! After 22 years, we still don't even use the same toothpaste...LOL) After you shared that you are in Iraq, I wondered if your girlfriend is from a different cultural background which might also be a factor in her outlook on training her pets. You have my admiration and gratitude for your service to our country. With the responsibility you have to assume in your profession, I am even more impressed with your attempt to train her Yorkie in your free time. As far as your girlfriends's choices, do remember though that she must want to change before any real difference can be measured. As long as you're spending more time than she in trying to resolve the problem, I question whether she is really as invested in seeking a solution as you. She is lucky to have someone such as yourself who is interested in her pet even though your methods seem a bit unconventional. You are researching and seeking answers which demonstrates that you are open to change and other methods. From your apparent thick-skin at not reacting in a hostile manner to some of the comments in this thread, it appears to me that you were "raised" to maintain good manners even when those around you have forgotten theirs. Try to wade through the criticism in the thread. Evidently this has triggered a hot spot but in spite of the outrage from some, you have been given some good advice by others. Again, thank you for your sacrifice on behalf of our country. Stay focused and stay safe. |

HE WOULD NOT HAVE GONE ON THE FLOOR. DOES NOT TAKE A GENIUS TO FIGURE THAT OUT. If anyone treated one of my dogs like that he would be out the door before he knew what happened. The dog makes up to him and follows him because that is what dogs do. They love us unconditionally, no matter how badly we act.

| RE: K so I'm totally havn the same problem with my male 2 year old I adopted. I would make him sniff (not rub nose) his pee. That didn't work. I've noticed unless you CATCH them in the act they don't understand what they are getting fussed at or why your making them smell pee. I bought a few belly bands and my mom duplicated the pattern and made more. THEY WORK! Bentley HATES when he pee's in the band so he less frequently goes in the house. I'm tryn to break the marking so it's more difficult. Maybe you could invest in the belly band. I recommend getting more than one because at first you will be washing them constantly. Yorkies hate pee in THEIR space and always remember they cant talk to tell you when they have to go. Not to mention their bladders are the size of a greenbean.

| I'm sorry I know I'm the last person to say anything because I myself is having problem on training my baby.... But what I don't understand is, why is everyone bashing him (not that I'm saying its okay what he is doing) but its obvious that he is looking for insight on what he should do? Not get bashed he already admitted that he did not know how fragile yorkies were and even said that he was going to stop doing it. Why does everyone feel the need to still bash him if he is correcting himself after getting feedback and advice from the other members. I came to this website looking for advice myself and I myself got bashed because I said I punish my dog and all of a sudden OMG I should give my dog away. People come on here to vent and get advice. AND I'm sorry but I do not see the point of why someone needs to copy and paste a past thread onto this one. You guys want to exchange words then PM each other and duke it out don't post it on a thread where this gentlemen needs help... Although I just contradicted myself and posted this I just had to say it I've been reading this thread since 7am today and just can't stomach it anymore... On another note. Globemaster I wish you nothing but the best on your training and hope that you and your GF get it down. I myself am looking for insight on training my Roxy because I work from 7-4pm and come home for lunch for only 30 mins a day so I know its hard. There were times I just wanted to give up but I love that little booger to much My last thread was crazy I was thinking of giving her away but after everyones feedback I understand now she's just a baby.... Good Luck...
