It is obvious that this guy cares nothing about the dog, if he did he would find more loving ways to deal with the issue.
If anyone treated one of my dogs like that he would be out the door before he knew what happened.
The dog makes up to him and follows him because that is what dogs do. They love us unconditionally, no matter how badly we act.
