| ![]() I'm in competition with no one! I like a certain type dog and breed according to what is correct within the yorkie breed and abide by the YTCA's code of conduct and code of ethics. Even if I weren't a member I'd follow those guidelines. I yell at no one but if you can't handle the advice or opinion then don't ask it it's that simple. We all have differences of opinions but that's the way of the world. Donna Bird Brooklynn's Yorkshire Terriers |

| ![]() I don't understand why everyone gets so mad at questions being answered so truthfully. I'm by no means a experienced breeder and don't clam to be. I just think I've learned from my experiences from breeding Teddy and Tiffanie and I for one am trying to breed the RIGHT way. I chose myself not by anyone else demanding or telling me at all to get Tiffanie Spaded. The reason I choose to have her spaded is because I knew she was not having AKC puppies and this is what I myself want, to keep our breed alive and going strong. Yes Tiffanie has the beautiful silk coat that shines but that isn't what is all called for through AKC for Yorkies. I'm not saying that our next litter won't be all "Pet Quality" babies but I'm trying to improve the breed at my home. Where did I honestly "LEARN" all this RIGHT HERE ON YT!!! Yes we are all new and yes we all have to start somewhere by learning. I'm not yelling at people I tell them what I have learned, my experiences, my ups and downs, my joys, my saddness and yes I tell them to learn all they can before breeding I wish I had of, but we can't go back and do what is done done we can only go forward and learn from our mistakes. We can't live in regret or if I had done this or if I had done that we should try to learn from our experiences and from those around us. There is none of us perfect we all make mistakes at some point in out lives. Life is one big lesson. And if someone here has been through things that I haven't I love to read their threads and try to learn from them. Not every Yorkie is the same and not every Yorkie does the same, what is good for one may not be for another one. Not every Yorkie whelps the same, and what may help one may not help another. Some advice may be good for one and may not be good for another. I do get upset when I myself am trying to do what is right with our breed and then someone comes on here and says well they got together, I understand accidents happen & it very well could of happened with me with Sage if I would of allowed my boys back in our Yorkie room with her but I didn't. I had a feeling to leave them in our living room and I followed that feeling. Sometimes just plain ol' common sense goes a long way. I use exclamation marks all the time, I'm not yelling I just use them alot. I'm like "Donna Bird Brooklynn's Yorkshire Terriers" I tell it like I see it and that is just me. I can't help it I've always had a big mouth and I guess I'll keep it (Not saying U Donna has a big mouth please don't take it that way). If I'm wrong and some better breeders and more experienced breeder come on here and say Lee that isn't correct it's this way am I gonna get mad at them, no I won't, would I leave here due to be corrected no I wouldn't. That's how we all learn is by being corrected. How did I raise 2 older girls that are good and so far never been in trouble? By correcting them, by teaching them, by leading a example in front of them (Not that I haven't made my share of mistakes in front of them) by putting them 1st in my life above all else, they as Yorkies don't ask to be here it's our responsablitity to take care of them and to do what is right with them. Some of U make other Experienced & Show Breeders think twice about what they are doing with our breed. I know one that U all just downed to death & tried to prove her wrong due to her thoughts on a matter and then in turn she wondered if she was doing right breeding and showing Yorkies. Why do U do this to these Show & Experienced Breeders who has Studied our breed long before we ever came on here, helped whelp many litters, had babies that didn't make it, lost bitches do to something, had heartaches, joys, ups & downs. This makes no sense to me. Their wisdom, their experiences, their truthfulness, their bluntness is worth all the money in the world to me. Another thing that bothers me here is that when others such as myself has been here for a few years and we ask questions that really need answers to learn from no one will answer. WHY? Afraid they might say the wrong thing? I'm sure if they do then one of the other breeders will come on and correct them. I have 2 post: 1 in grooming about "Modified Coat...Need Help...Badly" there has been 57 views and only 1 reply and bless her heart she too is needing to know. the other one is "Sage in Heat Again?? Please Help Me To Know" There has been 73 views and only 4 replies (& I thank U all that did reply very much!) U mean to tell me out of 73 views that only 4 knew or went through this with their Yorkies. I have detailed questions about both of my post and a video of Galahads' coat and photos of him on our website. I'm trying to learn to improve our breed and how can I learn if the questions are not answered? I understand that people has lives other then YT. It seems like the bickering, fussing, who's right and who's wrong means more then answering peoples quesions and trying to help others out. As I tell my Daughters You Can Please Some Of The People Some Of The Time But You Can't Please All The People All The Time. This is just my thoughts on things. |

One other thing I must say, and please I hope you do not take offense, but your small purple font is very hard for me to read so in your long posts sometimes my eyes give out before I can take it all in. You might consider a more 'eye friendly' font.....just a thought ![]()

I love this breed heart and soul and I love showing these little guys and breeding is part of what I do even tho I don't care for the breeding aspect of it it's the showing I prefer. I dont think I'll ever make a profit but I can't say never. I can't guarantee I'll have a show pup out of every litter I have. But if I continue to show a dog every year then what I place in a pet home covers my showing expenses along with that breeding. I hope that all made some kind of sense lol

I agree that the font and small writing is VERY hard to read. When i do manage to read, I like what they say but mostly I just skip over because I can't see it and I wear glasses. As far as the two threads, I read about the heat but didn't have an answer other than maybe a split heat.

Donating YT 14K Club Member | ![]() I'm with you other ladies...When people type long and drawn out, WITHOUT breaks or paragraphs, it makes it very difficult for me to read. Therefore, I end up skimming the post and missing vital information. Please use breaks...much easier on the eyes!

| ![]() I am not in competition with anyone else and I am breeding for myself first off. I simply keep trudging along bettering my own program and will always be working towards that goal. I think you will find some that are caught up in the my dog is better than your dog attitude, and are what we call kennel blind, where they think only their dogs/program is worthy and only the lines they work with are the best etc.. I can appreciate the hard work of others and I am proud of what I have done with mine and I don't feel insecure that I cannot compliment others. So I do compliment others dogs I think its great to see breeders and exhibitors being positive of each others hard work but so often you don't see it. There are a lot of nice dogs out there, they may not be exactly the type I breed for or from the lines I work with, but they are still indeed very nice Yorkies. I think that is the key to being able to grow is not getting caught up in being kennel blind. Deana Prestigeous Yorkies |
