I really like the Cane Corso! I knew a guy that has them and has had them a long time! They are very pretty! He had his tattooed on his leg! It was a GREAT tat! And yes, I'm talking Cane Corso's on THIS thread LOL... |

Go ahead and talk Cane Corsos. I would too if I knew the first thing about them. Just add them to the mix of all the other breeds mentioned in this thread. Let's see....we've had Paisley, Clydesdale, Yorkshire, Skye and Waterside Terriers, Maltese and didn't someone mention white Dobies? I'm sure I forgot a few. Oh, yeah...wolf hybrids was one. This thread ceased to be about the OP long ago...and maybe that's not a bad thing. |

No one put them down. All they are saying is that they do not meet the standard. So simple, why even I understand it. I am glad to know now that you are my official spell checker. Perhaps I can send you my draft before I hit the submit button. |
Cane Corso (Italian Mastiff, Corso dog) As you can see from the temperment, they may have had a bit of Yorkie mixed in years ago. After researchoing the Corso well before I bought one, and having the beast Carlo for almost 11 years, I do know a bit about them. They are the best, and almost as good as having a Standard Bred Yorkie. One of each is the best of both worlds. We will always have a Yorkie, but perhaps just one more Cane Corso. They need an active, and I do mean active owner when they are young. Me, well, I am not so young anymore. |
A white dobie sound odd to you? A standard is a standard. Anything else is the same in every breed. |

Was his tat a Cane Corso? Think they're called Corso's? |

My older brother has a Rhodesian Ridgeback that is from working lines. She's about 115 pounds and man, that is one strong dog! My brother has an artificial hip and knee so I have to go over once in a while to let her chase me around and wrestle. Love the big dogs!! WOOF WOOF  |

They're allowed more white in that standard than a yorkie. People sell them. I don't think people question if it's a doberman. |

I have been around a lot of large Mastiff breeds, and I can say with honesty, while Carlo is not the biggest, I have never had or seen a stronger one. Almost 11, battled Cancer, he can still jump a 5 foot feence, walk for miles, run, play, and obey. His best quality is protecting Maxine when she goes outside as we back up to a forrest preserve. You can't put a value on that. |

Everyone I talk to says both words when they talk about them. They are a big canine, aren't they? |
