I understand when people believe in breeding to the standard, but I can't understand how one can make a blanket statement that all parti breeders are disreputable and doing so only for money. | Thank you:). I came across video of Forrest the other day and cried as I remembered him. I can't help but think his life would, could and should have been completely different, if only .......if only the breeder would have known what she was doing, if only the breeder would have questioned his new owners....if only the owners would have been more dedicated....if only.....
Like you I certainly believe in breeding to the standard but I also know what dedicated parti breeders should want and it's no different than what dedicated, reputable, traditional color yorkie breeders should want.
The purpose for showing dogs is to have your breeding stock evaluated. But my impression is, today's dog show is much more of a beauty pageant, than it is an honest evaluation of the dogs physical attributes and/or faults. When you are aware a judge has put up a dog with bad knees, over looks obvious dye jobs, etc., it opens your eyes to what is truly going on:cool:.....And.....showing is okay, if that is what a breeder chooses to do to validate their breeding....but, I don't think it's necessary to show, to be a good, reputable, dedicated breeder........Tammy has proven that to me! |
