| YT Addict | I need to stop posting when I'm emotional... When I went home for lunch Miss Tink was GREAT! Like she never felt bad. ![]() ![]() So I'm thinking she just needed her antibiotic and cerenia to kick in to make her feel better. It just may take some time since we're adding new things to her routine. The good thing is she seems to actually like the enzymes I add to her food. She has a nice mixture of chicken breast, Hills I/D canned food, and cottage cheese. She ate her lunch very willingly. I'm so happy when she's happy... we are SO connected on a different level. Thank you all for Tink prayers and thoughts, she is the BEST little trooper. |

| I'm so very sorry, I am praying very hard for you and Tink. I feel your frustration and understand the "not wanting to know", I'm pretty sure I wouldn't want to know either. As you said, knowing will change nothing...I hope she was able to eat for you today and keep it down. Update when you can and know that you are in my thoughts and Tink in my prayers.

| YT Addict | Thank you all for keeping Tink in your thoughts and prayers. We had a good weekend, with no issues. Last night she threw up at 3:00 am, then moved around constantly all morning trying to get comfortable - then lost her appetite until lunch today. I did have to force feed her this morning, which I really really do not like because she runs from me but, I think sometimes it gets her to want to start eating. She ate a little bit of chicken, and I cooked some egg whites for her. Lunch time she seemed happy happy - so I just hope it stays that way. I think I have a routine down, if she doesn't want to eat in the morning, I force feed, give Prednisone, and Cerenia. This has been successful so far when I come home for lunch, she is a happy girl. I just wish she didn't have to battle these stomach problems. But, from what I've read, it seems to be the norm for Insulinoma pups I swear, I wish there was a fund dedicated to figuring out Insulinoma and what causes it, and better ways to manage it. I just want her to be able to be comfortable as long as possible. I hate when she doesn't feel good. But, I'm going to think positive and be thankful that she started feeling better. Thank you all for thinking of Miss Tink. |

| I know how you must hate that you have to force Miss Tink to eat at times, but you know it's what's necessary for her wellbeing. Should you be seeing the effects of the pancreatic enzymes by now? Or is it something that she has to be on for awhile to find out if they're helping her. I love to hear you say she's "happy" at lunch time though, that sounds promising. I agree, there are too many unknowns with Insulinoma's. I sure wish there were more studies, more information and definitely more treatment options. Oh and A CURE!!!

For the moment, we are holding off on her enzymes until she completes her round of B-12 shots (5 more weeks...) I found information with EPI that states to introduce one thing at a time. So after she completes her B-12 shots (then is re-tested to make sure her levels are normal) then we will start them again. We go in on Saturday mornings, the vet staff just loves her and it's so funny how she acts like she owns the place when she's there. She gets aggevated at me when I don't let her run free, or go say "Hello" to everyone there *Princess Tink* - lol I would LOVE a cure for Insulinoma - hopefully within my lifetime there has to be SOME type of improvement, it seems like vets still do not know how to properly treat it, or even understand what causes it. Tinky has been a happy happy little girl, thank you for keeping her in your prayers Tink sends virtual love to Winston | |

| You know I was wondering about starting her on more than one thing at a time...but didn't mention it thinking your vet encouraged both. I totally agree with the way you decided to do it. Oh I can just see her little self prancing around as if she owns the clinic...and who wouldn't fall for her charisma? Winston and I love her and have never even "met" her. Hoping for daily improvement and praying for happiness.

| YT Addict | Hello all, I just wanted to give a little Tinkerbell update. All has been going very well for us, no tummy issues - yay!!! She just finished her 6 weeks of B-12 shots, and will get another in a month. She actually liked our little routine of going to the vet Saturday morning, then we would take a little drive and let her enjoy the car ride with the wind in her hair. So I think, pray, and hope that the B12 shots have helped her tummy. I do not have her on the Mirtazapine every day, because she has a good appetite and is a happy little girl. It's crazy to think we are nearly one year after her diagnosis - because I think she has handled it all very well considering the circumstances. I no longer monitor her blood sugar. Instead, she gets tested every now and then at the vet. It stressed me out, and her and it got to the point where I couldn't take a blood sample because I was shaking so much. I just didn't see the point in taking it since it would not change anything as far as her medication or treatment. But she is a happy little girl, getting into anything she can and being her happy ornery self What's funny is now she is starting to snuggle with Maddie, our Cocker Spaniel rescue who had surgery about 2 months ago. They never used to lay together, and now it's their little thing. (Even though Tink will steal Maddie's big bed if given the chance )Thank you for keeping Tinky in your thoughts and prayers, she's such a little trooper! |
