| It's great to hear she has an appetite, I pray she'll kick this infection once and for all. Maybe her specialist will have a suggestion. Which antibiotic is she on now? Sure hope it works!!!

YT Addict | I SO hope she can get rid of this bacteria. She is on the antibiotic Tylan now - she seemed great when I picked her up at noon, but when I got home from work I could still tell her tummy was bothering her, and she kept wanting to eat grass . So, my vet has teamed up with another vet that offers 24 hour care - so I called them and brought her in. I didn't feel right about her not wanting to eat around 8:00 - so they did a full blood panel which the results were good, the only thing was her BUN was high, but the vet said that is likely because she is eating so much protein. So he gave me a stomach medicine (can't remember the name, I know it starts with C) - which is like a pepcid, malox, etc. all in one to help her little belly. Poor girl had two vet visits in one day. But she was eating good this morning, and seemed happy so hopefully the meds are working. She sure is a little trooper, I love this little girl so much |

YT Addict | Miss Tink is finally feeling better I believe. She is begging me for more food, which is her usual Tink-self I think/pray/hope the medication just needed a little time to kick in, but I'm just SO SO happy she is feeling better now. In the past, once she starts feeling better, it's usually all good from there - just a round of meds to keep up with. Thanks for your Tink-prayers |

YT Addict | Miss Tink has been doing good. This past weekend she was not feeling too good, but thankfully continued to eat. We have antibiotics at home, as well as her anti nausea so, thankfully, we've been able to go a month without a vet visit - yay for little Tink. I contacted her vet, I am convinced that her problem with her belly bacteria (Clostridium) is contributed to Pancreatic Enzyme Insufficiency, which can cause belly issues, causing the overgrowth of bacteria. I found this article at random, and am very thankful - the only problems Tink has had since her diagnosis was her belly problems that make her vomit and not feel good I feel so bad for her when she doesn't feel good and she looks at me with her "sad eyes" - just the worst. I would LOVE if we could find something that would prevent it from here on out. My vet is contacting Texas A&M vet school to see how we could do the test, since it requires 12 hour fasting (which is not an option for Miss Tink who needs to eat every 4 hours around the clock). My goal is for her to be happy and comfortable, and it would be SO wonderful to not have to worry about her tummy problems, and she could just be a happy little girl with a happy belly Thank you for your Tink-prayers |

| Does she have diarrhea? The antibiotic you use, is it Vancomycin? I know this information is most likely in this thread...I'm just looking for answers and can't find them, so thought I'd jus ask. Can they do a stool sample for pancreatic enzymes or does it have to be serum? I hope and pray you can find "the" answer. Would it do harm to just treat it as if there is a deficiency...if there is not? Tink is in my constant prayers...I think about you two all the time. I want you to have a happy and comfortable too. Winston and I send our love!!!

My vet called yesterday after speaking with Texas A&M regarding how we can do the test because they require fasting, and that is not an option for Tink. So, I drop her off Monday at 8, and they are going to "fast" her, while monitoring her blood sugar. They are going to let it get as low as they can, draw her blood, then give her some of her yummy chicken to get those numbers back up. Thank you for thinking of us, and Miss Tink - I will keep you updated with her results | |

| I sure hope this resolves her tummy issues. I'm anxious to hear the results. My fingers and Winston's paws are crossed. In my prayers...kisses to Tink.

| I have a friend whose pup has a pancreatic insufficiency. If that is what is going on with Tink, it is amazing how they turn around. Another friend whose pup passed this past year from unrelated issues also had a pancreatic insufficiency and he did well. Now that you mentioned it, it really does make sense to do that test. It covers a lot of stuff. I have had a couple of pups tested there.

YT Addict | Thank you all for your wishes for Miss Tink. She has been at the vet since 8 am this morning for her "fasting"... I called at lunch to see how she was doing, and they said -"Doing great!". As much as I don't want her to be diagnosed with another issue, it just seems likely that she has it - all the symptoms are there. ladyjane - I have head the same thing, once diagnosed and the enzymes are put into their diet, they do very well - hoping that is the case! I am in contact with other owners who have had pups with Insulinoma, and even though one pup tested negative for it (but had all the symptoms) they chose to treat her anyway, and the symptoms subsided. All I hope and pray for is that she can live as normal of a life as possible - and if we could get her tummy upsets because of that mean 'ol bacteria - I think she would be a happy healthy little girl. I can't wait to pick her up this evening, I hate having to leave her there, but if it's for her health it's worth it. I plan on taking a nice Tink-nap with her later this evening Thank you all for your wishes for Miss Tink - hopefully the results don't take too long to get it |
