| Typical....where have you been the past three days? Perhaps you need to go back and read every post. Come along now and act like people are mean. Same story, different day. All I can say is again: THANK GOD the pup is going to FINALLY get help. As I said...no one enjoys this....it was just something that HAD to be done. Sometimes things must be said for people to wake up. If we had coddled her do you really think she would have surrendered this pup? She needed to face the reality. Now, I am not going to argue with you. I am going to move on and help other pups who need it. I will do it my way....not yours. I do not enjoy having to come down on someone, but sometimes it is absolutely necessary. And, if you want to go around saying that is mean, that is your prerogative. Have a wonderful night.

| Your pup will be in good hands with Olga's group. I know it was hard; but you made the absolute right decision. |

As I stated before, I usually don't post on these issues, but Brendah, this is not the first time this puppy has been like this. I believe it was last November that she started a thread about Roriee having these same issues. She should have gotten help for the puppy back then. I am not an advocate of people just giving up their pets, but when you don't have the money to take care of them, it is something you should consider. We aren't talking about a dog that is vomiting, this is a serious issue that will cost a lot of money. And to think that this dog has been this way since last year is sad. Call me mean, call me rude, I don't care, this is a living, breathing being that she is supposed to take care of and if that means surrendering it, then so be it.

While I will say that turning the pup over to rescue was the right thing to do, you were way too late and you let an animal suffer needlessly for your own selfish reasons. You allowed an animal to "SCREAM" in pain and lie there with its skeleton all twisted. In my book, you deserve no respect.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Randi - I am very relieved to see that Roriee is going to a rescue, this is good news. If someone local is picking her up, she really does need to go to a local vet (pref. one of the neuros or an internist) for immediate assessment as to the best course of action. There needs to be a plan in place as to how/if her pain can be managed during the long transport to Michigan. Can her neck be stabilized properly? Can pain be managed properly? Can she be given enough pain meds, despite her Liver Shunt (what can the liver clear?)? Have you checked if Olga has a local outreach in your area, so Roriee doesn't have to go through a transport? Honestly, I don't think transporting this baby across country is a good idea *at all*. I'm so glad you are getting her help, but I think transporting her will hurt her more.

| Ann, I was thinking the same thing. That seems like too far to travel with a dog in her delicate condition and in that much pain. I'm afraid she might not survive the trip. |

| There are three national yorkie groups that could help her. Not exactly sure why people are jacking her around in cars but nothing I can say or do. Or is the transport going to be by plane??...that is what we would do. I would never transport a fragile pup by automobile over such a distance. Additionally, the yorkie rescues have fosters all over and may have one closer to her. At least she is being surrendered for the help she needs.

| I am so thankful that it seems this poor little doggy will be getting the help that she needs. I hope it is in time.

| I put Randi in touch with Olga (Retro Doggie Rescue), back in the beginning, because Olga was going thru the same thing at the time with a tiny rescue pup. Olga and Retro Doggie Rescue is ONE of the BEST rescues here in the USA. She knows her stuff, and she gets her rescues above and beyond ready and healthy for adoption...more than any other I have seen, EVER If I had a pup in need of medical and I couldn't afford it, Olga and Retro Doggie Rescue would be my very first choice. I know there is distance, but if it can happen very quick, I think it should be tried. And if it can't then of course another reputable Yorkie rescue should be called upon. Randi, I know you are sad and upset and I know you love Roriee dearly. However, you yourself are dealing with some tuff times, financially and health wise. And even more unfortunate, Roriee is also in need of urgent medical care. Pet owners def. provide love and security, but when a pet needs more than that, when they need to be healthy, then I do believe the most courageous and loving thing a pet-parent can do (if they can't provide) is give the pet a chance at a healthy life, and that is surrender to a Rescue, whom can fulfill that need. I am sorry that it has come to this. No one asks for a sick pup that's for sure, especially AAI which is really such a critical disease. I don't wish it upon anyone I will be following on the Liver Group to see how Roriee's transport progresses. I know Olga will do what she can, but also you may want to talk with her about what if she can't get Roriee to her, I am sure she can put you into direct contact with other wonderful folks that work in Yorkie Rescue that would be able to help as well. My suggestion is that someone FLY this pup to this woman. That is what I would do if I were involved and it was a long distance.

| Ohhhh I know who that group is. I thought the person who runs it is a different name? Is it OLga's group or is she just a member? Did they change the name of their group a few times?

There could be other rescues that do the same, but I can't comment on them, because I don't have experience with them. I measure anything on life based on my experience with someone or something. I can't really give advice on something that I haven't experienced, it just doesn't make sense | |
