Actually it is you that should do your research. Start with responsible pet ownership and what that minimally requires. I actually think it is you that is the mean one. You let this innocent creature suffer for months, you solicited money from good hearted visitors to your website where you posted disturbing photos of your dog's suffering. Then you had the audacity to spend those donations on vet care bills and not the surgery you told the public your dog needed!
While I will say that turning the pup over to rescue was the right thing to do, you were way too late and you let an animal suffer needlessly for your own selfish reasons. You allowed an animal to "SCREAM" in pain and lie there with its skeleton all twisted. In my book, you deserve no respect.
