I put Randi in touch with Olga (Retro Doggie Rescue), back in the beginning, because Olga was going thru the same thing at the time with a tiny rescue pup. Olga and Retro Doggie Rescue is ONE of the BEST rescues here in the USA. She knows her stuff, and she gets her rescues above and beyond ready and healthy for adoption...more than any other I have seen, EVER
If I had a pup in need of medical and I couldn't afford it, Olga and Retro Doggie Rescue would be my very first choice. I know there is distance, but if it can happen very quick, I think it should be tried. And if it can't then of course another reputable Yorkie rescue should be called upon.
Randi, I know you are sad and upset and I know you love Roriee dearly. However, you yourself are dealing with some tuff times, financially and health wise. And even more unfortunate, Roriee is also in need of urgent medical care. Pet owners def. provide love and security, but when a pet needs more than that, when they need to be healthy, then I do believe the most courageous and loving thing a pet-parent can do (if they can't provide) is give the pet a chance at a healthy life, and that is surrender to a Rescue, whom can fulfill that need.
I am sorry that it has come to this. No one asks for a sick pup that's for sure, especially AAI which is really such a critical disease. I don't wish it upon anyone
I will be following on the Liver Group to see how Roriee's transport progresses. I know Olga will do what she can, but also you may want to talk with her about what if she can't get Roriee to her, I am sure she can put you into direct contact with other wonderful folks that work in Yorkie Rescue that would be able to help as well.
