| took roriee to her vet today.. she is not better and he said to give her more time to recover as last time it was a slow progression... in the meantime i have her stable with her steriods and the vet put her on tramadol so that she would relax enough to go to sleep.. she just doesnt want to sleep and her little body needs time to rejuvenate...the doctor said that he doesnt think she is a good canditdate for the surgery.. when i took her to the neurlogist the first episode he also said she isnt a good candidate because she has multiple problems and making it through the surgery would be a miracle.. i now remember what they told me and they said she has several disorders going against her.. poor little thing... they told me that she shows symptoms of LP, enceplolitis (SP).. but i am still going to check out those links and see what i can do... her prognosis is guarded at this time...

| I'm confused, too. You also said on the IMOM website Roiree needed surgery.

| even though the vet said that she wasnt the best candidate because of her other problems but i am still thinking about it..i am trying to find her the best solution that will help her and make her life happy and carefree.. i have seen 3 different doctors and of course all three have different things to say... the first is her regular doc who i saw yesterday.. the 2nd is the athens ga vet hospital where i got her x-ray and the official diagnosis of the AAI.. the 3rd is GA vet specialist here in marietta.. they are supposed to be the very very best treating her condition.. athens and ga vet agreed on the fact that she has other conditions that make her a low candidate for surgery... but when i was seeing each of these doctors she was improving every day... so i let her heal and prayed that she kept on the healing and she did.. until the relapse.. now her regular vet has all the records from the other 2 and he also said that it would be up to me to keep on trying to get donations for her surgery and I still haven’t decided on what to do… I really want to see if she will start healing on her own.. I noticed little things with her behavior when she was back up and running around.. she would stand in one spot and just kind of zone out…but it wouldn’t last but a minute and she would snap back.. other things like her front joints were wobbly and if she tried to run to fast they would buckle and she couldn’t run anymore but she popped right back up… all I know is that she is the sweetest most loving baby I have ever had.. and her main issue right now is recovering.. the AAI is the most serious of her conditions and she needs to heal from that right now… I guess to be honest, she was healing so well from the first episode that I didn’t want to face the fact that she has multiple problems…. I have to update her website and I haven’t touched it since I first got her diagnosis since she was improving and I didnt think i had any traffic on it… her condition today is she doesn’t want to lay anywhere but on my chest…she is back to screaming but it seems more in frustration then pain.. she cant get her body to do what she wants it to and after she screams then she growls.. I have been holding her but I had to put her down to do some work on the computer.. last time she got getter by having that time when I was at work to rest… the house was quiet and she was in her bed.. she slept a lot.. I have had my ex roommate here with me since Saturday to help me with her.. we have been doing round the clock care and I think now she needs that peace and quiet…I haven’t decided what to do.. my mother is coming back tomorrow and she asked me not to make any decisions until she gets back.

I am sorry for all that you're going through and have been through, but I implore you to allow Roriee to get the help she needs ASAP. This is not just an urgent situation by definition, it is *also* urgent in terms of quality of life. The pain Roriee is suffering and has suffered needs to change. If you are unable to provide that change for her, please give her the ultimate selfless gift of allowing a Rescue to provide this for her, *now*. If you are faced with an impossible financial situation, as many sometimes are, and don't have an immediate solution (which IS needed) in your bank account - then please, love her enough to let her go, and let her get help. This is not about judgment, this is only about getting what she needs, right now, if you can't provide it for her - that's all.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | This "screaming" is not from frustration - this is due to excruciating pain.

| This is what you said on the IMOM website: i am here to introduce my sweet baby Roriee who is a 3lb 10 month old yorkie girl. She was just got very bad news today from the vet. She has AAI which is a genetic malalignment of the first and second cervical vertabrae. Her condition needs surgery and the sooner the better since without it she can further injure her spine then paralysis could occur. full body paralysis can occur and then she would not be able to breathe. right now she is on steriods and amoxi drops since she has a low grade fever as well. she is on complete cage rest until she can get the surgery. My Baby Roriee - IMOM Community Home This is very upsetting. This poor puppy is screaming in pain. |

| I have updated her website to show that her she is a low candidate for surgery. I have a rescue that I would give her to if that is the way I decide. Please note that I am trying to do the right thing by her and weigh all her options. I am doing everything the doctors tell me to do and keep her as comfortable and quiet so that she can rest.

| I have to agree. Dogs don't really scream in frustration (maybe sigh or growl a bit). They hide their pain very well at times. If a doggie is screaming, they are likely in extreme pain.
