| What is Your Secret Ingredient? When you are cooking - either a signature dish or a new recipe, do you have "go to" ingredients that you reach for knowing they will add that extra something? I use a lot of the following ( not usually in the same dish) Sazon seasoning Dill pickle juice Pickled pepper juice Lamb stock cubes ( thanks Sally ) Lemon or lime juice (acid brightness!) Maggi Seasoning Fish sauce Oyster sauce. Horseradish Sofrito What should I add into the mix that I'm missing out on??

Bouquet Garni Lea + Perrins sauce Wholegrain mustard Heinz tomato ketchup (love a squirt in my cottage pie mince...) Mint sauce (adds a kick to 'our' gravy ) Garlic salt (add it to the hot oil for my roasties ) Coconut milk Oh my goodness, the list is endless...will keep thinking! By the way Lisa, have you run out of lamb stock cubes yet? Just let me know.... Sally x

| I make my own flavored soy sauce now. I can't find it locally, but then I haven't looked in Asian stores recently either!

| Mrs. Dash salt free seasoning blends. The Original blend is my favorite and I use it in everything from soup to scrambled eggs.

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | I am in no way a gourmet cook but I do OK. I don't use many seasoning, cuz I never know what does together or how it would taste so I don't bother. I hate most seasonings especially sage & oregano. My go to think for cooking is Lawry's seasoning salt. I put that sh** on everything. Burgers, fish, steak, taco meat, turkey you name it. I love Mrs Dash too and don't let me loose with the garlic. Vampires will go running from my house for sure. Lawry's Mrs. Dash Garlic (fresh or salt) Oh and love Lawry's marinating sauces/ thats a whole lot of Awesome when in doubt about what seasoning to use.

Shake garlic salt into the hot oil, stir, add roasties, baste, and turn halfway through cooking, scraping up all the tasty scrummy semi-burnt bits on the way....about 40 minutes....it's nearly 11 p.m. and I could just eat a bowl of them right now.... Oh, and don't you worry please....will be off tomorrow to hunt down those elusive stock cubes...
