| I was at work and we have a tv in our waiting room, which was on the Today Show and they were talking about one plane hitting a tower and as they were showing it we were all watching when the second plane hit..we were all silent but knew this was no accident like they had originally thought.

| I just came home from taking my son to school and was getting ready for work when i was listening to Mancow In the morning radio. They were yelling something about a plane flying through a building in newyork and to put on the tv. So i did and about a minute into it another plane flew into the other building. I woke my roOmates up and told them we are being invaded or something. My job told me they were closing the store that day and i just wanted to get my son and be with my mom. I cryed about it today while listening to the radio at work. They were playing Nickle Backs Say It For Me song and playing clips of actual people who were trapped in the towers. This one girl was on the phone with the police dispatch crying saying "Im gonna die arent I?" The officer said no we are on our way to just say your prayers. She just kept crying that it was so hot and she was scared and then the officer called her name "Melissa" and no answer. The dispatch said" Oh My God Hello?" No answer it was really sad.

| I was getting ready for work and came downstairs to watch the news on tv and that's when I watched the second tower get hit.....at first I wasn't sure what to think..at that point I didn't know about the first tower......never even imagined it was a terrorist attack.....The rest of the day was mostly a blur for me....I have several friends who are city firefighters...and thank God they were all here on the West Coast and not in New York.......it tore my heart apart thinking of how could such a thing happen in this day and age......I still pray for those who lost their lives and for their families....

| I surely remember it. I was at my desk at work, someone came in and said a plane had hit the towers and then we gathered around the tv just in time to see the second plane hit and I was sooooo scared. My son was flying supposedly into JFK at 9:10 am that morning, which is so close to when the towers were hit, and I can not explain the feeling I had. My husband works at the same place my son does. I called him and couldnt hardly talk to see if he had heard from Bobby and he said no, and he is a very strong guy yet I could hear the fear in his voice. Then he said no, But Bobbys secretary had changed his plane ticket to land in Virginia. Well, that was still soooo close and I and he were both scared to peices. It was still a few hours before Bob got where he could call and let us know he was ok. I was fit to be tied that day. We already lost our daughter to heart disease and he is our only child now and I knew if anything happened to him and (still feel) that they would have to bury me along with him if anything happens to him. Our kids have always been first and foremost in our lives like most everyones is. So I'll never forget that day and all the people that lost their lives or a family member or just a friend. It was a horrible horrible day even if you didnt know anyone any place near it. I cried for I couldnt tell you how many days after that. Everytime anything was shown on tv about it. I'm so glad we didnt have tvs in our own offices at work. I would of never gotten anything done. For the people that lost their family members in it, I'm soooo sorry and for those that helped save people, i'm soooo thankful and for being an American and to know it was that bad and thinking we are starting to have the war in the USA , just makes you have to think how horrible it would be for it to have been or ever be a full scale war here. To all our military, police, firemen and people who work every day to defend us and our country I am thankful God let me be born an American. But I can still close my eyes right to this day and see that in my mind. I have a flag that flys in front of our house everyday. I had 3 brothers in the Air Force and I understand the price we have to pay for our freedom. Its sad but it is reality. Anyone that wasn't touched by this one thing is someone that is out of touch with reality. I just pray it never happens again and Thank God for The USA.

| I had just gotten out of the shower, was getting ready to head into the city for a meeting when I heard it unfold on The Today Show. Needless to say, I did not go into the city. My meeting was in the tallest building in Seattle, a prime target. I sat glued to the TV all day.

| I remember like it was yesterday, I was 8 months pregnant and the alarm went off so I could get up and get my son ready for school. I was still so tired so I just layed there. I had a radio alarm at the time so I just layed there with my eyes closed wishing I could go back to sleep. We were listening to the report and the first plane had already hit and the report was saying they thought it was a tragic accident. Then they reported the second plane, my husband and I looked at each other and jumped out of bed, we went straight for the tv. I sat there crying for all those people and when I stood up from the couch I saw my reflection in the sliding glass door and the only thing I could think of was that I was never going to see or hold my baby. Nobody had any idea at that point what else was going to happen and I was so scared. I had nightmares for a very long time. I WILL NEVER FORGET!!! |

| at around 5:45am (pacific time) my husband woke me up by screaming that airplane crushed into one of the twin buildings in Manhattan. I freaked out.I did not understand what was going on and then i saw first tower collapse. my heart stopped and tears were rolling down my face. my best friend (we know each other for 40 yrs and 1 year prior she had twins) worked on the 33rd floor on one of the towers.I did not know which tower. But it did not matter cause few minutes later there was a second crash. Her family lived in Queens. I could not reach anyone anywhere in NY for a long time. My girlfriend survived! And i am blessed to have her as a friend!!!!!!!!!!! |

| I was living in North Carolina at the time...I would have been 13. I was sitting on the couch watching Saved by the Bell waiting for my Dad to get home from a night shift so he could take me to school. When my Dad got home, he came flying into the living room & said (I rememember that morning so clearly - too clearly ) "turn on CNN a plane just hit the twin towers, I'll bet it's a terrorist attack!!!"Then, my Dad & I continued to watch for a while (I was allowed to miss school that day, because I was so scared) when all of a sudden the 2nd plane hit. My Dad said, "holy sh*t, it IS terrorism!" My Grandma (lived in Ontario) called to talk about it & I talked to her for a while. Then we just sat around & watched it all day. He didn't even sleep after his 12-hour night shift.

| I was at the bank buying travelers checks to go to NY when someone told me. I was like so what a plane flew into a building what does that have to do with MY trip to NY. It was to be my son's first trip. This was one of those times when the people who were hearing it at work didn't know details. I assumed it was a small plane in some obscure building. When i got home and turned the TV on I saw the gravity of the situation and found out that it wasn't a small plane that crashed. I was supposed to be traveling on September 11 but called and changed the date to the 12th, I was so thankful that I made that change a week before the 11th because It would have been heck to be on the way to NY and have your plain grounded in the middle of a flight and wondering what went on, especially with a child along for the trip. I called all my friends to make sure they were on and found ones bf was a firefighter that ended up missing that day. It would be 5 years before i made my next trip back to NY. Usually i would make one trip a year. |

| Living in an area along Lk Michigan where there was constant air traffic overhead, you don't always look up when you hear a plane. That morning, on my way our of the house to the office, I heard jets coming across and over. I looked out over the lake and saw the trails from 3 jet fighters heading east....no other trails. I said a prayer. There were no planes in the sky. A very uncomfortable feeling. When I got to work my daughter called and told us what happened.

| I was on a conference call with a group of people in the north tower when the plane hit. They were not being told what was going on so they stayed on the phone with us while we told them what was happening from the news coverage. When their office phone cut out, one of them called us back on his cell phone just so they could get some information on what they should do. I saw everything unfold on tv while I heard what was happening over their phone. I will never forget how scared they sounded. It was a horrific experience The information they received from inside the building was terrible. Initially, they were told there was a fire and to stay where they were. Then they were told the fire was beneath them (it was actually above them) and to head up. Based on what little we were able to tell them, they decided to go down and not up. They made it out of the building, but some on their floor went up as instructed and didn't make it out.
