| I had just got out the train station on my way to work when the first plane hit. When i walked in to work and changed the channel to the news I saw the second tower being hit. I thought I had it on the movie channel or something. It was unbelieveable. My dad is a construction worker and he was working a block away from the towers. I was scared out of my mind worrying and crying. I had got home around 5pm and he came home 8pm that night. He had to walk home from manhattan all the way to brooklyn. He was covered in dust from head to toe. It was the saddest day knowing that all these innocent people had lost their lives and families and it was also happiest day of my life knowing that my dad was safe at home in my arms.

| Man, I get the chills from reading all these. The feelings from that day will be with me forever. I had just sat down with my first cup of coffee and turned the tv on. Which by itself is very strange for me to do, I'm all about Coffee and the interent in the morning. I was still kind of groggy and didn't really know what was happening as I sat there and watched the second plane hit. My Husband was on his way to LA I Called and begged him to come home,He didn't though and I worried about him all day. |

| I just got in and after reading through the rest of these so many things came rushing through my mind. After reading what you NYC people wrote, it is really hard to imagine how strong you all were. I don't think another city in the US could have handled it the way you did......you really are tough and a role model for all of us. I have always watched Tom Brokaw sp? and just seemed to count on him for his honestly and strength when times were not good and when I saw him break down and cry on the evening news when his secretary was not expected to live it was another moment I just lost it.

| My furkids Donating Member | I was at work and like some of you, I also thought it was a horrible accident. I called my Mom and told her what happened. She put on the news and called me back telling me that another plane had gone into the second tower. We were listening to the radio (at work) and then realized what was happening. What a horrible feeling I got. I worked in a correctional facility at the time and they sent us all home. One of our Correctional Officers lost her daughter (my daughter went to school with her) that day. Every time she came by to see us tears would come to my eyes. Thank you for posting this. My heart goes out to everyone that lost a loved one that horrible day. And GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS! May God please end this terrible war and bring our troops home GOD BLESS AMERICA!

| Well, this day truly turned my life around... I was at the airport in San Fancisco and supposed to leave for home (Germany) after an extended visit with friends in Fremont, CA. Due to the tragic events all flights were cancelled and I had to go back to my friends home. It was so devastating and I was really scared to fly afterwards and stayed a few more weeks. During this time my friend teased me and said she would find me a man on the internet. Even though I was NOT looking, we posted an ad just for fun. 2 days later I got a response and really thought my friend wrote that b/c it described exactly the kind of partner I would have wanted if I would have been seriously looking. To make a long story short, she didn't, I met the guy and one week later we got married and I'm a proud American citizen now and we live happily ever after... BTW... he was Mitzi's dad and I thought if a single guy has such a delicate tiny dog and takes care of her all by himself he can't be all that bad... And that's how a terrible tragedy made me the happiest woman on earth and how I became Mitzi's mom... |

| It is odd how we can't remember where we put our car keys but we can remember EXACTLY where we were then. My daughter had forgotten her violin and I had left work to go home to get it and take it to school for her. I was on my way back to work when the news reports on the first tower were just coming in. I remember the woman DJ being frantic and saying that it had to be on purpose and the male DJ trying to caution her not to jump to conclusions........

| I dropped off my kids at school, and went home. I was flicking through the channels on my TV looking for something to keep me company while i cleaned the house, and I saw the coverage on CNN after the 1st plane hit. I sat on the edge of my bed, and watched through the tears as the second plane hit, the people running, and crying, the screaming, the constant replays, all the rescue workers and people with dirt and dust covering them, then the plane hit the Pentagon, and I nearly fell off the bed. My husband was working in DC, and often works close to the Pentagon. I got on the phone and called him. It took me three times to get the number right. When he answered his cell phone, and I knew he wasn't hurt I fell apart. He could hardly understand what I was saying, and he asked me if I had just had a bad dream or something. I told him about the towers, and the Pentagon, and I told him I was calling to make sure he was safe. I hung up the phone, and cried all the way to my kid's elementary school, then waited in a huge line to sign them out with all the other parents.

| I was at the airport about 10 minutes before loading up. I remember walking through the airport to my gate, when I noticed stewardesses and other airport personnel gathering and whispering. After finding out what was going on I remember the strangest thing yet... The airport had thousands and thousands of people and it was so quiet, you could hear a pin drop. Everyone was gathered around tv monitors and we were all just numb. I remember one guy started screaming, "This is war! This is war!" And we just told him to 'can it'. I never got on my plane, but it still took 2 days to get my luggage... But that was nothing compared to the people who lost loved ones that day and will never see them again, till Heaven.

| I was already at work when I saw it on the computer. I turned the TV on in the break room and saw the 2nd plane hit. We had gone into a meeting and gave up when the Pentagon was hit and sent everyone home. I called my sister in NJ, she worked at a soup kitchen across the river and watched from their building. That week was her daughters first full week of teaching kindergarten. Several of her students lost a parent that day. |

| I was getting ready for work and saw it on the news. I thought a plane had lost control. I remember sitting on the edge of the bed when the reports started yelling "there's another plane", my hand went to my mouth and it was clear what was going on. We lived near the airport in Indy. My mom worked at the airport and I remember calling her, crying, and wanting her to come home. She said they were safe, not to worry. That night after all planes were grounded, I went out to the middle of our front yard. It was complete silence. It was very eerie. Lots and lots of stars. I got on my knee's in the middle of the yard in the dark and prayed for all those who suffered, all their families, and for our country. I'll never forget that moment.
