What were you doing on that day 6 yrs ago tomorrow?? So We Never Forget That Day I was on the phone with my buyers lender and told to come in to sign papers in a half hr. if possible. I'm looking at the tv and I thought this was live but I thought it was an old news break from some earlier date. I'm in a hurry to get ready and realize that one of the twin towers has been hit and I'm still not able to run the data in my mind so it made sense, then the second tower and then I was sure I knew what was happening. No planes were to be flying and there was one in the air when I got out of my car when I reached my appt. but men who were outside said it was an army plane. When I got in the owners father was in the first tower that morning and they were trying to get to him by phone. (they did reach him and he was alright) It was a day we should never forget and taught us just how vulnerable we are. |
I drive a school bus and myself and another driver took the first grade class to a city near us so they could see a play. The other driver and I went to a diner to eat breakfast and saw it on the news there. We went back to our buses and listened on the radio. A few minutes later the theater let out all the classes and we went back to school. I didn't want to leave my son, so I stayed and watched the reports on the TV in the library. |
We had only recently moved into our new home. I remember my husband telling me that the WTC had been hit, but it didn't sink in until later when I saw the buildings fall. |
I was vacationing in Hawaii and was fast asleep at my parents'. When I woke up my parents were frantic because my flight home to Utah was in a couple days and they had no idea what more would happen:( |
I was sitting in the exact place as I am now listening to the radio and working on my computer at work when the news came across that a plane went into the first tower. I screamed as did others thinking how could such a thing happen when before we could get a grip another news cast came across talking about another then another. I thought it was the end for everyone and left my job to be home with my youngest daughter and her newborn because her husband was away on business. I prayed all the way home thinking I would never see my family again. How tragic that day was. My daughter's best friend and husband both worked in the first tower but got out. |
I had just walked in the door from the gym..(yes at one time I did work out) and it had just happened and was on the TV. Within an hour all 3 of my grown children left work and came home and we all sat together for the rest of the day. |
was sitting at my desk at my job, minding my own business when someone came in and announced one tower was hit.. we all ran outside the building and watched.frantically. i work at jfk airport so i could see manhattan from the parking lot. at one point i saw the buildings, the next they were gone. we were sent home because we had us customs in our building too. not a place to be on that day.. |
I was at work and someone said a plane went into the twin towers, I thought how sad thinkong it was a smqll plane that ran into trouble. Afew minutes later we started getting calls from the outside giving details. Then the company set up tvs in the cafeteria so people could go watch. I couldn't go watch I wanted to wait until I got home so I could get through the day. |

I was in school, it was my first week of high school. We watched it on the news, so many ppl were crying and many had parents that worked there. I was picked up and taken home and felt so alone and scared during that tragedy. |
I was shopping in a ladies clothing store....two clerks were crying and told me what had happened. I immediatley drove like a crazy woman trying to get to my little boys pre-school. I grabbed my little boy and we went straight home. I was glued to the TV for days. It still makes me cry to think about it!!!! |
I was painting the interior of a garage and saw a plane, which seemed very low for going into the Pittsburgh Airport. We had the radio on and it was shortly after that when they came across with the news about the crash in PA. I was glued to the TV after that for over a week to the point my family made me stop watching. The following February, we had the opportunity to visit Ground Zero and pay our respects. We should never forget what happened that day. I personally believe they should replay the video every day to remind us. Don't forget to fly the American Flag...........EVERY DAY! |
Freedom Survived 1 Attachment(s) I forgot to add, I was so touched by the events that I sculpted a plaque that we had produced in aluminum and clear coated. My husband is a volunteer fireman so it was even more close to our hearts. |
I was at work and heard the first news of it on the radio. Luckily we had a movie theatre and were able to go watch. Saw the second plane go in and the towers tumble. It was a day that changed our lives forever. |
I'd just starting working at Markquarts, maybe a week or so earlier. We were catching blips of it on the tv's in the lounges and just sorta stunned over the entire thing. I remember thinking some of my customers strange. They were coming in and moving through their day like nothing was going on and clearly, plenty was going on. |
