Much appreciated and thank you.

For additional folks:

I think some folks are missing the point and didn't read the earlier responses to Wylie's mom and others that helped shape this post. I hope it doesn't get lost in the kudos and people making it turn into a back and forth. It is simply an observation being discussed that has been discussed many times before - not always in the open.

I think Wylie's Mom did a great job of keeping it just that "a discussion" ... I can't respond to everyone like I did earlier but my hope is before people make the same comments that were addressed earlier, please read the responses in the earlier pages of this post as these things were addressed hours ago.

This is to enlighten and lift ... nothing more. As Wyle's Mom mentioned earlier my "panties" are not in a bunch. LOL

Ice cream...large quantities of ice cream usually does the trick. And if it doesn't, eh...that's ok too.

People generally DO help the person with the sick puppy or the puppy with other issues; but why do you think saying the puppy was sold too young is wrong? We are here to educate!
Please see #s 1-4 in the second paragraph of the original post as to why we are here.
And a little FYI, I certainly am not promoting the idea that it is okay to let a puppy go at 8 weeks. Nor did I say that.

I haven't read through the entire thread, so forgive me if someone has said something similar...

While I agree with a lot that the OP said in the 'rant' here are my thoughts:

Sometimes, yes, people could be nicer. But, I think the points people make on threads (such as, 'why do you have a 7 week old puppy' etc) are good for people who look at the thread later. Maybe a person is searching google for info about yorkie puppies and a YT thread pops up, and they read something that says you should't have a puppy before 12 weeks... They learn something they may not have learned otherwise. I can think of a hundred more examples.

Also, if posters have an open mind, then they can take criticism (albeit hard sometimes) and really learn from it. I was involved in a thread like that last week. Instead of letting it get to me, I took some excellent advice and learned a ton.

Lastly, I think the issue is this - people who know, or think they know what they are talking about want to correct or educate those who they believe do not know what they are talking about. And, no one likes to feel stupid, so, people start to get defensive... But, we all make mistakes, we all say stupid stuff, and when you post in a public forum, you get a public opinion.... Honestly, if I post a question I want real answers, real opinions, the good and the bad. If this forum was just about making ourselves and other people feel good or better about themselves, no one would learn anything.

So why buy anything else?

I am sorry, but I am not going to buy into that thing that people are being run off of YT right and left. If they leave it is because they wanted to. And, honestly, some are only here to stir the pot anyway....and there are plenty of them and they have a great audience.

There are some people on YT who think everyone has to play nice with people who are harming animals...be careful what you say and how you say it. Not something I can quite grasp. The animals don't have voices...WE are their voices and to pat someone on the back and play footsie with them while they harm one, then we are abusers as well imo.

Whether it be online or in real life, people voice opinions. Kids go to school and get picked on. There are those who run and say "oh, you poor darling" and feed right into that child's insecurities. Then, there are those who say, "why do you believe what another person says about you when you know it is not true?". Kids will continue to be victims if we tell them that they are victims.

Sometimes people are harsh on YT, but does that mean people have to leave? Again, they leave because they choose to do so. There is a lot of valuable information on YT. If you don't like a certain thread, leaving is only cutting your nose off to spite your face. There is an ignore feature on YT and I have used it more than once when I just didn't want to see what certain people were saying. I have some on ignore right now and have for some time. They are here and so am I. I did not leave nor did they when we disagreed.

Again...simply my opinion.
Actually, I know exactly why we are here. I commented on it above.

I am seeing that my opinion of delivering the medicine with a spoon full of sugar does not appear to be a popular one.

I am definately not saying that opinions shouldn't be given, on the contrary I believe they should and the education is very important. BUT what I am saying is that why can't the opinions be given in a respectful and decent fashion?

I have a hard time with the theory that it doesn't matter how people are treated that if they want to learn they will stay and get over it. Why can't they be treated respectfully so they want to stay? Honestly if I asked a question and was treated badly I would lose respect for those answering rudely and not put any weight into anything they said to me. I would then instead go off looking for my information elsewhere. I am not talking about "making people feel good" or saying what they want to hear, I am just saying educate with respect. Not only is it just a better way to treat people in general but it will also make people WANT to listen to what you have to say.

I'm done now.

It all depends on what you call rude. Everyone has a different idea. Some people think that being honest is rude. Not so...it is not rude and not disrespectful...at least not in my world.

What's "respectful" is a matter of opinion and how one chooses to interpret it, not to mention the power of suggestion. As someone said earlier, if you go looking to be offended, you will more than likely find a way to succeed.

(And quite personally, I have always felt that the terms respectful/disrespectful were some of the most overused, pointless terms in the English language. My former boss used to toss that phrase around all the time. I have found that in many cases, they are terms used when you don't have a leg to stand on otherwise--when all else fails, just yell 'Disrespect!'
