What's "respectful" is a matter of opinion and how one chooses to interpret it, not to mention the power of suggestion. As someone said earlier, if you go looking to be offended, you will more than likely find a way to succeed.
(And quite personally, I have always felt that the terms respectful/disrespectful were some of the most overused, pointless terms in the English language. My former boss used to toss that phrase around all the time. I have found that in many cases, they are terms used when you don't have a leg to stand on otherwise--when all else fails, just yell 'Disrespect!' |
