| Yeh, I'm only 3 hours from Miami , so the weather is very similar to theirs I was at Blizzard Beach all day Saturday with family, while the wife stayed home all day with Chester. We didn't want to leave him home alone all day for 12 hours When do you think we can start letting him rome the house alittle more then just the kitchen? At 6 months? We still have to get him to calm down around the cat, otherwise he's going to get another wack from the cat |

YT Addict | Yeah, I wouldn't put a timeframe on when he will be ready. I would expand his area slowly until you make sure he is going back to use p pad. When he is using it consistently without a miss expand it a little like add hallway, etc. Also the more area he has the more opportunities for chewing especially when you aren't there to scold him. I would say at least after teething done - 8 mos. It's for his safety and your peace if mind. You can slowly increase his area when you are there so he knows his boundaries, etc. |

| Took Chester to the vet yesturday, he's done with his shots , but they wanted to hold of on Lepto and Pervo? They have him his last Dap2 or DA2p, or something like that, and also held off on the Rabbie shot. They wanted to wait till next month till he gets a little bigger, and not overload him. They did give him the B something, lol Sorry I don't have the list in front of me, lol He still has all his baby teeth yet I have to say theirs 3 things out of all his toys and stuff we got him that are loved One is for us, no more biting of the feet, since we got the bitter apple. All the biting of the feet and molding etc, stopped completely , I haven't even had to use it now in over a week 2 toys that Chester loves, are the IQ Ball, where we put yorgart treats in, and as he rolls the ball around theirs a opening , and it spits out a treat , he figured that one out in a day Another one is the IQ tree, where theirs 3 small stuffed animals , and when he pulls one out, theirs a treat inside their! He loves the yorgart treats , and their healthy for him. The vet went to give him a treat, and my said tell him to sit, don't just give it to him. They said he knows how to sit all ready? My wife said, oh yeh. He learned that in one day. So they did, he sat, and he got a treat! He's getting used to being walked on a leash, and we still let him run all over the fenced in yard, but we stay next to him, so he doesn't pick something up and start eating it. Next weekend we go camping with him! We have a 30' camper, he will be walked on a short leash, not allowed near other dogs yet, and only for a short distance, we still don't want him to catch anything. |

YT Addict | Pips gets his final shots this Sat at 16 weeks. I am going to try and weasel out of one of them and come back for the other one in a week or two. I don't want to a combo shot and rabies at once. He last 9 way shot was rough on him. He is still growing and almost 3.5 lbs now charting at 5.5 to 6 pounds. I will post some new photos later in the week. I hope your trip went well with lil Chester and he did well with travel. Would love to hear how he is doing and photos are always cool. Curious to see if he's changing colors like Pips is. |

| We're going away this weekend camping with the camper with him for 3 days, we can't wait to take him with us. We now let him run the house, but not the bedrooms, well one bedroom, and the rest of the house. The cat stays outside on the porch, or sleeps in bed when he's out roaming the house. When the cat wants to come in, or wakes up, we put Chester back into the kitchen. The last shot was rough on Chester to, he was hollowing for a good few minutes We held off also on the rabies as well till next month I'd love to see a pic of Pips, Chester is tracking allitle smaller, we just weighed him, he's 46oz |

YT Addict | Pippy growing "Pips" updated pics Wow, Chester is quite a bit smaller than Pips. He will get a growth spurt and will probably catch up. Pips has been growing structure wise quite a bit over the last couple of weeks. He gets his parvo and rabies shots tomorrow and then hopefully can get out. He' getting bored with the kitchen for sure. I don't let him run the house freely yet. He go overwhelmed when I took the pen out of the kitchen. I think once he goes outside he will do better. He's hitting his pee pad regularly and hasn't had an accident for weeks. My old post somehow got deleted so it's titled "Pippy growing". Glad to hear Chester is doing so well with training. Would love to see new photos of Chester. I increased his food to almost to 1/2 c daily. I measure it out and put I a sealed container so I can monitor ho much he is eating, It's just under 1/2 cup. |

| We're camping with him now for the weekend! We had a awful night last night. A few days ago we started letting him have the run of the house when the cats outside or in the bedroom sleeping, we close the door so they don't get at each other He started yelping at 11:30pm last night, for a hour, he finally stopped at 12:30am. I started to fall asleep , counting the hours I have left, till I have to get up for work He started again at 2am till 2:30am , I was so mad. He wanted out of the kitchen, but the cat is in the bedroom with us, so that can't happen, yelping and yelping Ended up going to work with about 3 hours sleep I'm not sure what we're going to do He's still teething really bad also I'll be glad in a few months , I hope after he gets spayed, he slows down, and starts to sleep more. He's still allot of energy, lol Last edited by Fltekdiver; 08-29-2014 at 06:07 PM. |

YT Addict | Yeah, I decided not to make any changes and give him more room yet. He's not secure enough yet and was overwhelmed when I took the pen out if the kitchen. He is now holding it through the night. He goes in his pen with crate at 8 pm (out all day). He doesn't go to sleep right away but is quiet. He is up at five and goes to his pad outside of pen as soon as I open the door. He didn't want pad in Hus pen he kept tearing up even tho it was a fresh one. In the next week or two I will try again putting pen in the yard to start potty outside until he gets over eating everything in site. We live in the woods so I don't want to risk him getting ahold of the poisonous frogs. |

YT Addict | Well, went to vet today and he only got rabies shot. They will do last 9 way in a week and will premedicate him first since he ran a slight fever the last time. He has slept since we got home so I am really glad I asked about breaking them up into two trips. I got heartworm (heartgard plus) and an oral flea medication (1 month). The heartgard says 0-25 lbs and it is a chewable med looks like a piece of meat. I probably put him on Advantis plus for fleas/ticks that way I can use it when I need to. He won't be walking or playing outside a lot here because we have birds of prey (2 acres woods). The heartgard for 0-25 lbs seems like overkill since he only weighs 3.4 pounds. I am wondering what your have lil Chester on and how is it working for you? |

YT Addict | Forgot to say he got released to start going out in ten more days when he can start his heartworm meds. I will give him his first flea med tomorrow so he can start venturing out on the porch to use ppad until the 10th when I can start heartworm meds. |

| OMG, Chester has to do that shot in 3 weeks from now. They told us the same thing, we have to plan to stay with him, incase he gets a fever etc. They said it's the worst one, but thankfully it's only one time How's Pips doing now that a few hours have passed? He's doing wonderful camping, sleeping with us, which is a first, lots of time spent together all weekend. He loves the campground, walks right past the other dogs, doesn't bark or anything. They have a nice fenced in area that's really big, for dogs. We left him off the leash , he ran all around, loved it. Their were no other dogs their I also took some nice pictures of him looking at the camper windows. Down at the water, in the park, will post when we get home for sure. They really show his colors coming in |
