| Omg I Am So Mad....little Yorkie Left Outside Where I live our property backs up to apartment, the one closes to me are townhouses, I try to stay out of their business but I don't know what to do...there is a lady with two kids, the teenager is always up to something, but I don't say to much to them, just to stay on there side, but any way they are goverment subsized and are not allowed pets...they have had this yorkie for months, they try to hide it but now they are leaving it on the back porch with no one home...I am so mad I want to call animal control or the manager but my dad said it isn't my business...What should I do guys...I don't know when they will be home, and I don't know if they do this all the time, because I took the day off, and I usually work during the week...I need your advise.... I am going to sneak over and take pics so you can see how they left it and tell me what you think...

| If you call the manager or animal control that little baby is going to end up in a shelter, you dont want that to happen I am sure.

| I would certainly call the manager/and Animal control. You can stay anonymous. Little dogs should not be left outside alone that is cruel.

| Call the apartment management and report them. Yeah, I'd feel bad for the kids losing their doggie, but the doggie deserves better treatment. Keep us posted on whatever you decide! |

| Okay guys here are pics, the best I could do...the lady on the end is a real %(((# and so I was trying to stay where she didn't see me...the first is from my front porch, the second is of the baby & how they have it..the rest are from different angles...I don't want it to be sent away, I am just worried because its not a secure fence, and I don't know if it has food & water, its over there crying jumping up on the door..and there is a big dog that lives behind us that just kill a chi chi...and the neighborhood isn't safe, poor Max (GSD) is guarding her, I have him sitting in the front yard watching out for big dogs...

| I don't know what to do...help....I am worried about someone could just come up and steal it or we have eagles and hawks and what if something happen to it...it doesn't have any shelter or anything... Should I go talk to the lady next to her and see if she can talk to the woman and try to explain the dangers of leaving one out...My heart is telling one thing, but my mind is telling me another...

| You need to help This is animal cruelty as far as I'm concerned. You have an obligation to look out for this poor animal. I wouldn't hesitate to do something. If you can't talk to the owners, then call management of apartment. The dog would be better off with someone else. It is cute and I'm sure if the humane society had to pick up this animal it would get a good home. Take action as soon as possible before something happens.

If the lady next door is not nice as you've indicated, she will probably tell you that you should mind your own business and it isn't her place. While you might be able to educate the owner, if they are this ignorant to begin with they just might not really care and take it out on the poor dog. What about contacting a yorkie rescue group and asking for their advice/help?

| Eek! That poor doggie!!! SOMETHING has to be done. The way I see it, the options are: A. Call the apartment manager. They would most likely talk to the lady and she'd have to find a place for the dog. (Or find a new home for herself!) B. Call animal control. They could possibly take the puppy and take it to a shelter or something. Do you know if the local shelter has a no kill policy? If it doesn't, yes, it may get euthanized or very likely someone would adopt the dog. I tend to think (and I could be wrong) that a purebred, small doggie has better odds at adoption than a larger dog? C. Talk to the neighbor. I'd probably advise against this option - just like no one likes to be told/advised how to raise their child, no one likes to be told/advised how to raise a pet. D. Do nothing. The doggie could get stolen (then again, maybe the thief would take better care of the dog?! Playing devil's advocate here.) Or the doggie could be hurt outside. Or the killer big dog could get to it. I think you should listen to what your mind tells you...I ordered the things above in the order I would do it. Last, is there a rescue group in your area? Maybe they can provide some guidance? |

| should you or shouldn't you? I think you should mind your own business.T he dog looks fine to me.I do understand your concern about the dogs safety but I think reporting the woman is going to far.If you want to help just go over there and talk to her about the chi that got killed and how her dog is behaving when she is gone.Sometimes thats all it takes.I think try to help first and then if she doesn't respond call proper authorities last resort is the mgr.(ps. if they don't already know(dog barking) they must be lax anyhow and probably won't do anything) JMO! |
