I know a lot of people are dirty, and a lot of dogs are cleaner than most people. But imagine the lawsuits that would come up if they told a person that they couldn't come in the store because they smelled. They can't discriminate like that.

| Then why is it okay to dicriminate against my animal. They can't ask someone to leave their bad a$$ little kids in the car to cook (nor should they) but they can ask me to let my baby bake! I just say it is unfair. Value in life is value in ALL life, not just human life. Sorry I'm so wound up...I just get so tired of hearing ,"it's just a dog". It is life regardless of canine, feline, or sapian.

| I've always took Gizmo (hand held) with me to CVS pharmacy, Sally’s Beauty supply, Payless and Staples. No one every said anything to me, until last week. We went into the CVS and I decided to look in the doggie section they have. There was a kid there; as soon as he saw me with Gizmo he squeezed one of the toys. He loves those squeaky toys. He started barking and so the security guard told me I had to leave . I bought the toy FIRST! Haha Then I left.

My other yorkie passed away last august. It was 3 years of hell because he had gotten SO sick after a vax. Well, I had a guy tell me that until I had kids, I would never know what it is like to truely feel pain over someone getting sick. I'm also sick of people telling em that my baby is "just a dog". suz

I feel bad that that kid was afraid but I don't think that is a good enough reason to not allow dogs who are in bags in a place. I was afraid of MANY things as a kid...one being men and they were everywhere and I did not avoid stores that men were in. Also, it is not about leaving a dog home for an hour. There are many other reasons why it would be very HELPFUL if people would allow dogs in stores especially for those of us who travel, work on the road, or live far from things. Dogs should have a right to leave the house too. suz

Leaving a dog in a car to bake is wrong, torturing anyone or any animal like that isn't right. If a dog isn't allowed somewhere, then just leave him at home and avoid the issue. If your not sure if dogs are allowed somewhere, then leave him at home. If the dogs aren't allowed you can't expect all stores to make an acception for you, because then it has to be done for all pet owners.

I think fear and allergies is a good enough reason. If you can't be home to take care of your dog and you know that its not allowed in most places you go, then unfortunatly maybe you shouldn't have a dog.

Fear...well unfortuatly you can't change the world just because someone is afraid of things. Dogs have a right to be out and about too. Just as people should be respected and want to take their kids places with them, dog owners should be respected too. People have tow ork to make money and survive. It is not too much to ask to want to take your dog out with you if you've been gone all day or if you are stuck in situations where you brought your dog on a trip or out and about...it is nice to know that some places would let you stop in with them. It's not cut and dry "leave your dog home". It extends far beyond that. I have respect that people want to have kids and take them out. People should have the same respect for me. suzie

| Okay, well this seems to be a rather sensitive subject. Look, all I am saying is that we should be able to take our "babies" with us. And I have 2 skinkids too! My son is scared of larger dogs, even though we had two. That doesn't mean that I immediately run out of petsmart when a pit walks in. Now don't misunderstand. There should be restrictions. Why can I take my Daphne into a shopping center if she is in a bag or taxi suitable for air travel. That would take the "dangers" away. There would be no threat of injury to anyone. Now that means that a larger breed dog would be in a large crate but if someone's vet is 1 1/2 hours away from there house and the supermarket is in the same parking lot, why can't I go get what I need without fear of being kicked out of a store? I don't believe in breedism, so yes the regulations should be the same for small animals as it is for large. If the animal is contained enough for an airport, then it should be contained enough for a Target. I'm not saying everybody should be an animal person, I'm just saying can't we all be a little more tolerant of other peoples life styles. Some of which include animals. As far as allergies, come on people. Take the allergy meds you have and it'll all be okay. If you're allergic to oak do you stay inside all day with sulafane wrapped around every possible crack in your house? I myself refuse to live in a plastic bubble and so do most people. People that don't want animals in public because of allergies, normally just tend to be intolerant of animals in general. JMHO! Now with that said, I have snuck Daphne into Walmart, I have taken her to work with me on the weekend, to the daycare to pick my kids up. That's about all I've dared to do.

| I'm not trying to be harsh, but most people have Benadryl in there medicine cabinet. Anyone that has allergies that doesn't think a dog should be in public just doesn't like dogs! Now of course I'm speaking generally. I understand that there are those that have pretty severe allergies. My BF is one of them, but he still loves our cat and would risk his life for her, and he's allergic to her. He suffers horribly at times, but he doesn't blame the cat. Fortunatly he's not allergic to Daphne! I'm not trying to judge anyone, I'm just saying that MOST of the people I've met that say they can't be around animals because they are allergic don't go into sneezing fits when they come to my house. Yes, their eyes get itchy so I know that they are really allergic, but it's NORMALLY tolerable. Most of them just don't like animal or respect them as God's creatures and their allergy is their crutch. Again, I am speaking very generally. Keep in mind also, that there are those out there that are intolerante of children. They don't go to a children's park, but you can't always avoid kids. The whole thing is just proof that people don't have the same respect for animals as they do for humans. I've actually heard someone say that animals don't have souls and can't feel. This came from a chi owner! I guess I've just been reading way to much about all of these cases of animal cruelty and hearing people tell me that I shouldn't do so much for Daphne cause she is "just a damn dog" and it has me in an uproar about the equallity of animals.

| And I completely understand that. Like I said, I was speaking very generally. Let me clarify by saying that IF I did have Daphne somewhere and I saw that someone near me was being bothered by her or was scared of her, I would remove myself from the area. But to be kicked out of somewhere just because somebody noticed she was there, that is what I consider unfair. I don't want anyone uncomfortable or suffering because of my children or animals, but I don't want to be kicked out of Walmart because I took Daphne to the vet and had to run into Walmart to get pullups for my son to sleep that night. I also don't see driving an hour back home to take Daphne home and then turning around to drive an hour back to Walmart and then drive back home again. I just wish people would be more tolorable of others. Pet owners...allergy sufferers...parents...non-parents...black...white...brown...I would like to see everyone live in harmony. As cliche as it is...can't we all just get along!!!
