Anyways, back to my point, there are alot of people afraid of dogs, big dogs, small dogs, medium dogs, etc. Now put yourself in that position, IF you were afraid of dogs, or any other animal for that matter, and that animal was allowed in the stores. I don't think many people would be to happy if THEY had to switch stores just because a fraction of the population thinks they can't leave their dog at home for an hour. This made me think, that what if dogs were allowed everywhere, and I had a kid that was afraid of dogs. What if I couldn't take my kid anywhere because there would be dogs there and he started screaming and making a scene because he was so scared?

Another reason is allergies, some people are allergic to dogs. Imagine if you had to go out of your way, because your local convience store allowed dogs and everytime you went in their you broke out in hives or had a worse reaction.

*These are just some reasons I thought of as to why dogs probably aren't allowed in certain stores. Everyones bringing up the cleansiness issue, but I think these are understandable reasons too. As for each individual store, I have no idea why they allow/don't allow dogs

I feel bad that that kid was afraid but I don't think that is a good enough reason to not allow dogs who are in bags in a place. I was afraid of MANY things as a kid...one being men and they were everywhere and I did not avoid stores that men were in.
Also, it is not about leaving a dog home for an hour. There are many other reasons why it would be very HELPFUL if people would allow dogs in stores especially for those of us who travel, work on the road, or live far from things. Dogs should have a right to leave the house too.
