| He may just be stressed from the move. I am pretty new here, but hopefully some others will pop in and give you some advice!

| Have you tried Royal Canin kibble? It is very palatable to dogs and when some wont eat anything else, they will eat that happily. You may need to start off with TINY pieces of boiled chicken mixed up in the kibble, to get him redirected....just a little chicken, cut into finely diced pieces so he cant mull around in the bowl and pick the chicken out...sometimes I honestly believe we totally confuse our pets by jumping and switching around all kinds of dog food, the first time the dog turns his nose up at a specific brand. This "Dog Food Dance" will drive both you and your pet absolutely nuts! What was the pup on when you got him? Go back to that! Let the pup get settled and comfortable in your home, his new home, and then, when all that baby has known and loved up until that time, has been used to keep him feeling secure and safe in your home, THEN, if you feel compelled to fix something that isnt broke and start switching dog food on him, then you can start that disruption in his life! |

| Since you got him 2 weeks ago, he might still be getting adjusted to his new home. Have you tried sitting next to him to encourage him to eat? I always sit next to my guys on the floor when they eat. I would stop all the different food(s) & pick one kibble &/or canned food. Give it to him for 2 meals or 3 small meals (if you have time for that). You can moisten the kibble w/just enough water to moisten it, some dogs like it better that way. You can add a tablespoon of canned food if he likes it. You can try hand feeding him, let him lick it off your fingers, or let him lick it off a spoon. Don't get frustrated or show any impatience, they can pick up on those energies. Some good dog foods you can try: The Honest Kitchen, it's a dehydrated food made in a human food plant, the only pet food approved by the FDA. As toppers for kibble, you can try freeze dried foods like Primal or Nature's Variety. They also have premade raw foods, dogs go nuts for that. You don't need to feed these foods, just suggestions of some that are very well liked & often not refused.

| I agree, stop the buffet. Pick one type of food, measure it out and leave it. He is old enough where you don't have to stress about hypoglycemia. He will eat when he gets hungry. And as advised early give a little nutri cal at bed time if didn't eat for the day. They only need to eat about a tablespoon of kibble a day to avoid hypoglycemia at this age. |

| It can get crazy Had this happen many times, we have had yorkies for over twenty years, and we were guilty of the buffet line syndrome. All our friends who have yorkies have come to us with this problem....our experience is the dog will eat when hungry. But if you are concerned.... french style green beans (frozen) sauteed in just a smidge of bacon fat will cause the pickiest eater to clean the bowl remember to use only two or three tablespoons of green beans they are not Paul Bunyon. Hope this helps. |

| Canned food... We have had a problem with our two. Our Abbie had developed a light urinary infection. We had been feeding the "meat only" expensive $3 to $4 for each tiny can.. After trip to vet, he recommended Royal Canin designed for that problem. It was a kibble. Local place with "meat only" attitude did not sell RC. A new Petsmart opened in town, so we looked there. Max is older and has lost a lot of his teeth. So we decided to try the Royal Canin canned for 8+ and the Beauty. We also tried the matching kibble of each kind. Our babies were usually very picky and would not eat much for a couple of days on the "meat only" canned and dried. Well, that has definitely changed since switching to Royal Canin! Now, we even use the kibble bits for treats. They prefer it! And a bonus ~ you will never believe how much $ we save. Instead of the $125.00 plus a month ~ we're down to less than $50. Plus healthier dogs that love to eat and are much shinier. I wish someone had told us about RC before! |

| Try the royal canin. My Izzy was a somewhat fussy eater. We were using canine caviar but had trouble locating it so switched to the royal canin. I can no longer free feed because she was putting on too much weight. All my dogs love it. |

| He is probably having some severe separation anxiety right now. Yorkies can get very attached to their people. Since the pervious owner was feeding him people food he probably is not going to go right to eating dog food for a while. I would talk to the previous owner and ask what his favorite foods were. Do you cook his food or is he used to eating raw? That can make a world of difference to dogs. They are really scent oriented so you want to give him something that smells really good. Hopefully once he gets over the fact that he has a new home and new people he will start getting more interested in food. You might want to try getting some all natural treats for him to kind of get his appetite stimulated. Don't feed him a lot of it just a couple before meal time to get the belly working and his nose interested. Feeding human food is not always bad. You just want to make sure you don't use the seasonings that most people would use and make sure he gets good nourishing food...not junk. You can try throwing some nutritious veggies and meat in a blender or food processor, add some good natural vitamins and lightly cook or serve raw depending on what he is used to. Some people have had success hand feeding dogs that refuse to eat. I would give it a try if your really concerned about him. |

| I'd avoid any strange and wonderful items and try straight roasted chicken. Personally I would avoid royal canin kibble completely. Rice is a grain and I would avoid feeding that. Perhaps some quinoa with chicken or beef stock (unsalted of course) or the green beans bacon fat trick, I would vie on the more natural side of food items. Have you ever heard of canned tripe, I've never seen a dog turn it's nose down at that. completely smelly and if you mixed a little in whatever you are feeding it may encourage them to eat. Please keep us updated |
