Since you got him 2 weeks ago, he might still be getting adjusted to his new home. Have you tried sitting next to him to encourage him to eat? I always sit next to my guys on the floor when they eat. I would stop all the different food(s) & pick one kibble &/or canned food. Give it to him for 2 meals or 3 small meals (if you have time for that). You can moisten the kibble w/just enough water to moisten it, some dogs like it better that way. You can add a tablespoon of canned food if he likes it. You can try hand feeding him, let him lick it off your fingers, or let him lick it off a spoon. Don't get frustrated or show any impatience, they can pick up on those energies.
Some good dog foods you can try: The Honest Kitchen, it's a dehydrated food made in a human food plant, the only pet food approved by the FDA.
As toppers for kibble, you can try freeze dried foods like Primal or Nature's Variety. They also have premade raw foods, dogs go nuts for that.
You don't need to feed these foods, just suggestions of some that are very well liked & often not refused. |
