| his thingy sticking out!! ok i know this is gross to some people but i need to know that its not just my crazy dog? tonight he is humping his favorite toy and his lipstick came out completely and stayed out for about 5 to 10 min!!! he doesnt move just looks at me puzzled?? I feel like this happens way too frequently for a neutered dog. One time I called the vet because it stayed out for a long time and I thought it was stuck!!.he is 14months...Please tell if this is going on with your little man??? I dont know whats normal..

| I have heard to rub some Vaseline on it and help it go back in... That's what my sister had to do after she took her male to the vet for the same problem.

| I have a friend who has a morkie that has similiar issue. But if I remember correctly, his problem was something about forskin being loose so sometimes, his thing just comes out. Another thing I remember is that her vet told her to use KY jelly and not vaseline. I think it was b/c it happens to him so often that if he licks vaseline a lot, it wouldn't be good for him. |

YT 1000 Club Member | I think I've stopped laughing now where I can actually type, but I would not expect a "put up" if you rubbed it with KY or anything else. Matter of fact, just the opposite. Actually, any effort you make will probably not do much good. This is a natural occurrence, and I think you'll just have to deal with it. If there's other people there and it embarrasses you, just put your dog in another room for a while. PS: I highly recommend you do not scold your Dog for this, he can't help it. Shucks, my self control is deplorable, I'm ROFL

| My Jake (now 15) did that once the day before I had to leave on a 4 day trip to Philadelphia, and by best friend dog sat. I was told to put a cool (NOT cold) compress on his "tulius" and then put mineral oil on it. It went down and back in gradually. It was a little strange calling 3 times a day for "tulius check" until things were back to normal. Fortunately, my friend is a good egg and didn't mind having to touch his red rocket.

| LoL Jax's comes out every time he humps his fav toy (pillow pet) but I keep it away now, haha, it's just too gross. It's huge too and he walks around with his back arched up like he doesn't know what it is. hahaha. Oh male dog problems. He doesn't hump anyhting else and it always goes back in by itself so I am not worried about it.

(a very bad joke in my opinion regretfully on second thoughts for me) Regardless of the reason for that recommendation, putting KY or anything else in that area as suggested, is very likely going to create some very confusing and lingering psychological issues for the Dog. I do not recommend that you resolve this problem in that way. PS: In reading tutters post, I think that (thought circumstantial) having someone other than you or another resident apply any medication or action for the Dog's benefit is highly recommended.

| Lol! This thread made me laugh... I have this issue sometimes with Bevo. A nice bath will correct the problem (gets IT most). Then, no "rubbing" of any type is necessary!

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Lol I sighed too. But gently given the owners concern I would also encourage Taking Away the toys he likes To Hump

My friend took him to the vet every time it happened. Something about the foreskin being too loose so it'll happen from time to time. I think there was a point where it happened often enough that the vet just told her it's something she can put back at home and vet visit isn't really necessary. One of the weirdest "problem" I've seen a dog have... o_O | |

YT 1000 Club Member | It just dawned on me, but, could there have been a Female(s) next door/apartment/near. We all know how superior their sentability is. Also, Dog's don't do that for no reason at all.

| I can't say for 100% sure that there aren't females next door to their condo but the times it happened at my house, the only female around was Zoey. They're not exactly best of friends. LOL They're all fixed also. As far as I know, her vet told her it was because he had loose forskin so it'll "slip out" sometimes. If it doesn't go back in by itself after a while, put it in manually. |
