I said that is why I bought them but soon discovered she has been bred too many times and that is not my intention anymore. Please read all posts before jumping to conclusions. | |

Based on what you suspect and what you already know I do believe a call to her local S.P.C.A. is warranted as well, they can do a "animal welfare" check.

| I think trying to continue to contact her, and threatening legal action to get information is a very good idea, if nothing else that 'breeder' needs her life made hell for what she did to those poor pups. When you go to the vet, he'll hopefully have some more advice on what to do to help you get a handle on those poor little ones. And skin conditions are common if dogs aren't cared for and just breed. Good luck, sorry you had to find out all this the hard way. But I am glad those doggies are out of that breeder's possession.

| YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Well welcome to YT. All I can urge you is to go to the vet as you have planned, and tell your tale to him. At least he might be able to tell if this female is pregnant. Given the lies the breeder told you, she may have a whole lot of dogs breeding, and who knows maybe this female is pregnant. It also sounds that these two do need some medical care which I hope you are prepared for. In terms of the male, get a belly band, change it frequently and at least the spraying won't be all over your house.

| Yes I do agree. I will contact the police and local SPCA. I do not agree with puppy mills at all. And I wanted to go through all the proper channels when i started breeding. And I know the effects of over bred puppies (I bought one before) so that is not something I wanted to have attached to my name. Honestly I am happy she is not pregnant - yorkies can not have puppies every year and when I found out she was 3 and pregnant with her third batch I was shocked! Not educated in purchasing yorkies - I bought 2 yorkies unregistered for $3900 was that too much to pay? How much should I have paid? |

| Also, the males tongue does not fit in his mouth - is this normal for yorkies? about .25 of an inch sticks out at all times. |

| No, Yorkie's tongues fit into their mouth like other dogs. I've been told that usually inbreeding or breeding for short muzzles can cause this. Other times it can just be a "throwback" I have heard. Probably no one who's read/posted has experience with this Cesar brand and knows nothing about it.

| $3900 is an outragous price to pay for two yorkies let alone two yorkies without papers, that are not house trained, over bred and from a poor breeder at that. You really need to take them both and have them spayed and neutered ASAP. I do not think you have any legal actions with the police but you might be able to sue her. Highly doubt you will get anywhere with that either. If you want to breed you need to go about it the proper way and what you have done is far from proper. Please do your homework and chalk this up to a hard lesson learned. If you are not able to care for them you could contact a rescue and turn them over. I hardly doubt you will be able to recoup your losses at this point. Very sad.....

| I would say you rescued these two and I would get them cleaned up, get them proper vet check up, get them both fixed and sounds like they might need a dental. It sounds like they have had a terrible life and breeding the poor girl again would probably be terrible on her. If you want to breed you need to do a whole lot more research and you need to find a mentor who breeds. When breeding your breeding dogs should be health checked, free of LP, they should be excellent representation of the breed and they should be AKC registered which it is not possible to just send in a blood sample and get them registered.

| I didn't know they had a dry food but I am not a fan of cesar but was that what they were eating? I would not change there dog food yet I would keep them on what they were being fed for a week or two and then switch and when you switch it needs to be done slowly or they could have stomach problems. Wellness and blue buffalo are two good brands.

| It sounds like breeding is all these pups know. ![]() I am glad that you have decided not to breed. Please get them spayed and neutered. Especially if you are planning on finding a home for the male. Have him neutered first to ensure he is just a pet not a breeder again. Also consider a rescue if you decide to rehome him. Good luck to you. Sounds like you can give them a loving home but it will take some time and hard work.
