I am totally in agreement with proper breeding practices. My little girl is a rescue that came with loads of things wrong with her when I got her. She had skin issues and legg perthes and had to have surgery for that. We are off to the Vet tomorrow for x-rays for a persistent cough too. I have alot of money invested in her to make her better. And I would do it all again in a heartbeat because I love her so much. So I get where everyone is coming from about improper breeding practices. Its just that things got way off topic on the proper use of language when it should of never of been an issue at all.

i cross breed because i want too, because i have a demand for it. not everyone agrees with it..but there are just as many that disagree that agree..i will NOT argue about my cross breeding. i do not feel the need to defend it..its my choice..i understand that others do not like and i respect there choices

respect? me addressing her with HEY was not a form of Disrespect but all I have received since that is disrespect so no i will not show it to someone who demeans my post and my person and show so little regard for other people.

Egads Lisette, someone breeding mixes and yorkies saying that they have them presold before they conceive? Meanwhile respectable breeders have cutback on breeding quality breedings because they do not have homes for the puppies due to the economy. This is why education is crucial. I can't image what motivates anyone to initial a breeding like this. This is not a yorkshire terrier. It's a shelter dog that should be adopted. There plenty available.

And as far as Mary just being another person, that is not really true. Yes, we are all equal as people, but she is a recognized expert in the world of Yorkshire Terriers. She has EARNED our respect and I don't understand why you seem to be on a crusade against her. She has not demeaned you in any way. Now you are just twisting her words into saying something she did not say at all. Her quote was: "So, many say that the South is a bit backward in their way of life and thinking. I think their backwardness is something the rest of the country can learn from. " She is saying that others may think the south backward, but SHE thinks the rest of the country can learn from them! You can't twist her words into something you want to argue when she did not say anything snotty or rude about the south!

I think this last post has more to do with the dissension you are causing in this thread than anything. I think because you know many of us are against cross breeding and using sub-standard registeries, you are on the defensive and want to argue everything to somehow diminish our opinions on your cross-breeding habits. That isn't going to work either. There are some very specific things that gain a breeder respect not only on this forum, but in the breeding and show world of Yorkshire terriers. Cross breeding is not one of them. Your justification that people are buying them to make it somehow right is invalid reasoning. Think of this -- people stand in line to buy drugs, food with poor nutritional value, guns, smut, even other people for heaven's sake -- that surely does not make it right just because there are people willing to pay money for it, does it? I am not equating your cross-breeds to these other things, but I am saying that you cannot justify what you do by saying people are willing to pay for it. They will pay for just about anything. That will never make it right.

Now -- if you want to set all this aside and start over -- I think it would be a good idea. I am not going to be rude to you just because I do not agree with your breeding practices. We are fine to disagree on that. But if you continue to disrespect valued members of the forum, that is not going to get you any mutual respect at all. Do you understand that? I think you are continuing to hold a grudge aganist those who do not agree with cross-breeding and are not "hearing" what they say in the light it is intended. So, open mind, respect all around, and we will all have a better day.

i have nothing against AKC i have AKC and want to breed AKC i enjoy learning about it

i dont feel like i need to defend my cross breeding i know people dont like it on here but alot of people do, and i am not against..i am against shepheard pit mixes, lab and whatever else

i got disrespected IMMEDIATELY for saying HEY..thats what im defensive about..all i wanted to do is ask a KNOWLEDGEABLE person about something i didnt know so that i could learn

i was GENREALY interested in the AKC info on ID..and it got pulled this way and that..instead of just talking to me about it.

It was not they "Hey". It was the going to great lengths to prove her wrong it was just plain unnecessary. The problem with cross breeding is that it is not reputable at all. But seeming how you were using CKC registry my point there is mute too. People without knowledge agree with cross breeding. People that care disagree. I will not argue that. There no need to.

i have AKC as well..its not a registry issue..

Did you not say you were new to AKC? You have not bred AKC yet, and you wanted to know you were doing it right? Yes, you did. You like to argue? I went directly off what you said. If you really cared to do it right you would not cross breed, or have started with CKC in the first place.

Tammy, you can turn this around and start doing the right thing. Please, I urge you. Stop crossbreeding. Where do your dogs come from? Do you know their lineage? Does your vet test for inherited diseases? You need to talk with some of the rescue people. Too many dogs getting euthanized because of this kind of breeding practices. My mentor has walls of Champions,over 150 and she can tell you all about great great great great great great grandparents and even further. Thats a person who loves this breed and only breeds for the betterment. She tells me about a dogs she took in the ring in 1970. Can you tell me anything about your YorkiePoms? Do you get it? There is more than tattooing or micro chipping.

This is an excellent point to why certain breeders should be help above others. It's like trying to compare Goodwill to Saks Fifth Ave.
