Whereas at least dog parks provide a fun remedial atmosphere that can offer a lot of serious good times, and a lot of support from other people and dogs, and it's not just walking like a robot on a leash every day at 6 down the same street again wondering where your life went, and how you ever managed to end up with 'just a dog'. | |

| a similar thing happened to my dog. He was a cocker spaniel. My neighbors had recently moved in and had a pit bull mix. A few months after they moved in, their pit mix dug a hole under the fence, and attacked my dog. He was trying to take my dog back to his yard. My neighbor came over and took his pit back to his yard. My dogs intestines were all over the place. I was a little girl so it has scarred my since. My mom called animal control and they took away the pit and euthanized him that same night. Turns out he had killed a cat before. My neighbors felt horrible and paid for half of our new dog, a golden retriever, she is in my picture album.

| This exact scenario happened just a little while ago to another YT member (Shannonroselive). She lost her dear little "Curlymac" to the neighbours dogs, they pulled her through the fence too. The owners of those dogs are being just as heartless as the owners of the neighbours dogs in your situation. I don't know how they can not feel obligated to compensate you for your loss. I know how devestated Shannon and her family have been, so I can imagine that you are feeling the exact same way. I am so sorry for your loss. I am going to forward Shannon a link to your post.

| I am so sorry for your loss. I would fight this in small claims court. Your little Barbie was a member of your family . She did not deserve to die in this manner, and the neibors are cruel. Agian , I am deeply sorry for your loss.

| So sorry for your loss. Different states different laws, I would atleast make a police report. The officers should know the laws and advise you atleast.

| I am not a lawyer, but I think the O.P. can win in the small claims court. I see cases like this one all the time on court TV shows, and the owners of the dead dog always win. In my opinion, the owner of this vicious dog should pay the value of the dead dog or at least half of the price of the dead dog. To the O.P., I am sorry that you had to go through this terrible experience. Last edited by JoshieBoy; 01-29-2010 at 01:37 PM. |

| I am so sorry. If your neighbors lived their faith out they would have offered to replace your dog. Hope things work out for you. |
