| We were blessed to get Mickey from someone my DH met on Craigslist while buying baby gates for our 18 month old... Mickey's prior owner has been ill and unable to care for him as he should be. My DH told her if she ever wanted to find a new home for him, call us! She did... and just gave him to us. He has been my heart from his first shiver.... Here he is today at work with me. He knew I was feeling bad and didn't want me out of his site today. I love this little man so much!!! He is about 3 lbs and he's 2 years old Last edited by love2bgigi; 09-02-2009 at 10:35 AM. |

| I recently adopted Sophie. She is 18 months old and 3.5 lbs. This is her 3rd home and she is the sweetest little doll anyone could ask for. She was rehomed originally because heer owner returned to school and didn't have the time to care for her anymore, then rehomed to me when her second owners started a business and weren't home enough, leaving Sophie alone for long periods. She has been with me for a little over a month now and is a wonderful addition to my home. ![]() P.S. I will post some updated pics when I get my camera charged and figure out how to do it. The picture on my profile is of my son Jake and Lola my 4 year old yorkie.

| We went to Arkansas on May 12th of this year to pick-up a beautiful 16 mo little girl who was being re-homed by a YT member. Her name is Sophie Kennedy, she weighs 9 lbs. and has the sweetest personality you could ever imagine. She has fit in with the 2 boys so well you would think that she has always been here. Sophie is so girly, she loves to wear clothes and be pushed around in her stroller. Carl Stark made her some beautiful bows to wear, She's getting used to having them in her hair!! She is such a joy and just such a love....Thank-You Linda for entrusting her to us....You made our family so much happier when Sophie joined it!!! ![]() Her pic of her in her stroller is in my Avatar to your left!!!!

| Rocco Harley joined us July of 2005. His parents were getting divorced and we were so happy to be able to give him a home. He was our first yorkie, I had no idea I could love him so much!

| We have a total of four yorkies. Two are "rehomes" but we say we rescued them. Our girl is 8 years old. We have had her for four years. She was under four pound when we got her and you could feel all of her ribs and all of her spine. She would submissive wet across the room. She was kept in a room with her mom and grandmom with one bowl of water and one bowl of food. The previous owner sprayed the grass with pesticides so strong, it would burn their paws. She is now a healthy, sassy 9 pound yorkie. However, she has baggage. She cannot be without water. She panics. We have had almost all of the tests we could to see if there is something wrong, but fortunately all tests came back negative. Our youngest yorkie is a little over a year. We were able to get him last October. The previous owner had a history of buying dogs and getting rid of them. He was boarded frequently and not socialized. He weighed a little over 2 pounds at 9 months and always had the shakes. He was so thin, you could feel his microchip. Almost a year later, he is almost 5 pounds. He is steadily gaining the yorkie confidence he should have. |

Thank you, we think they are darling also, and you would never know that Miracle had not lived with us her whole life. She actually has moved her way up to Alpha Dog, out ranking my dashaund whom I have had for 13 years. I just love her and could not imagine my life without them in it.

| This thread is perfect timing for me. I rescued Nicky, a four year old 4.5 pound Yorkie on Saturday. He lived the first three years of his life in a puppy mill until he came into rescue. Then a horrible family adopted him for six months and returned him back to his foster mom on July 29th. He was clearly abused. I will be having lots of questions. This beautiful baby is a love and just wants to be held, but he is afraid of his shadow and it will take him awhile to feel safe. It breaks my heart. I wish I could hold him all day, but I can't.

Fear is a hard thing for them to get over if they ever do. My little one has been with us over a year and still has some fear issues. We are thinking of getting another this week.

| Me here!!! Jake that we have now is a rescue and our previous guy Jack was a rescue. We had gotten Jack when he was about 7 and was so horribly neglected. He had a severe abnormal genectic thing with his nails and we had to have almost all of his nails removed so he could walk and not have pain and have a better quality of life. And he had horrible gum disease and had only a few teeth when he died. We gave him a great 3 years. I will only ever rescue animals, because it is so satisfying knowing that you saved one who is already on this earth and desperately needs a home. They give back so much in return!

| We added Gracie to our household just a couple of months ago. She was rehomed but the longer we had her the more we think she is a rescue! http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...ur-gracie.html Cassie (the shih tzu) was a puppymill rescue ten+ years ago. |
