This thread is perfect timing for me. I rescued Nicky, a four year old 4.5 pound Yorkie on Saturday. He lived the first three years of his life in a puppy mill until he came into rescue. Then a horrible family adopted him for six months and returned him back to his foster mom on July 29th. He was clearly abused. I will be having lots of questions. This beautiful baby is a love and just wants to be held, but he is afraid of his shadow and it will take him awhile to feel safe. It breaks my heart. I wish I could hold him all day, but I can't. |
