| Who owns a rescue or rehomed Yorkie? Hhhhmmmmmm~I'm just wondering how many YTer own a rescue or rehomed Yorkie? After a while we all tend to forget who has a rescue or rehome pup. So why not share you little ones on this thread for anyone who is considering to open their heart and home to a rescue. I'll go first I have 2 rescues, 1 rehome and a foster pup. Pebbles is a rehome. She is 2 yrs old and I have had her since she was 5 months. She is from a BYB and a 11 lb teapot. Doodlebug, my Morkie just turned 1 in April is a puppymill rescue. We brought him home last July when he was 12 weeks old. Bogey is also a Morkie and came from the Rescue Forum right here on YT! JackJill posted his picture in the rescue forum with the story how he was found on a IN country road. Her sister runs the shelter there and I went to see him and fell in love. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...oure-best.html Truman is also from the Rescue Forum and he is my foster pup. He was very sick when I brought him home but he has been living here since Feb and is doing great. He's turned into one handsome man. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...hicago-il.html I just thought this would be a great way to show just how many pups have been saved and are now living in wonderful loving homes. Anyone else like to share as well? I KNOW there are a lot of you out there

| Hello! First let me say your dogs are such cuties, but I love that first shot of Pebbles!! I am the proud parent of Tater and Cosette (CoCo). Tater is a rehomed rescue actually. He was abandoned at a vet's office as a very young pup. Then a couple adopted him from the vet's office. From his behavior, my vet believes there he was sadly, proabably abused. They sought rehoming because they couldn't handle a puppy and a 2 year old child. I fortunately found him, not even really looking specifically for a Yorkie, but he made me fall in love with him and the breed. I have had him since he was 9 months old. He is now nearly 2.5 years old, and weighs about 4.5 lbs. He is the sweetest mommy's boy, and is quite spunky! CoCo is a puppy mill surivivor. I was fortunate enough to find her in April. Tater and I drove a long away and had our choice of a lot of Yorkies. There were 8 puppies, CoCo, CoCo's littermate sister, another 2 year old female, and a 9 month old female with a prolapse. I quickly narrowed it down to CoCo and her sister, who had such a beautiful light coat. But CoCo had the personality I was seeking. She was calm but playful and was already affectionate even though she had 'escaped' only a week prior. Her sister was still in her shell and needed more time to be ready. I am so happy with my decision and blessed to have her in my life. Everyday is something new with her and I love watching her develop. CoCo is 2.5 years old and weighs 6.7 lbs. She is a little lovey dovey thing, and does such cute little tricks. Sometimes I wish I would have taken her sister too!! Here they are (Tater has the one floppy ear) |

| What a great thread! Phoebe was 4-5 months old when we got her and we are her 4th home. Her behavior indicates that she was taken from her mother too soon and possible abuse or neglect I got her from a woman who did rescues sort of as a hobby and she was really great with her so by the time I got her she was spayed and up to date on her shots. I drove to California to pick her up and at first she was really shy but after a couple weeks and with the help of our big dog she warmed up and is now a spunky little thing! |

| Me next! Me next! I thought I was adopting a rescue dog, Teddy my Yorkedoodle but it sounds like he came from a broker! Then I became a foster mom to Clara Belle thanks to megansmomma! We have had her almost 2 months now and decided to adopt her. Teddy is almost 9 months old, weighs 15.2 pounds and is missing a back foot. Clara is 7 1/2 years old and weighs in at 10.8 pounds. Before these 2 babies, we rescued a little senior girl from our street and gave her 3 1/2 years of love and affection.

| Remy is a Morkie and is a re-home from YT. He came to us in early September and has become the biggest love bug. Milo and he are such buddies and are never far apart from one another. Here are pics I took a couple days ago. Remy pushed his way under the couch pillows and made himself a little sleep niche. |

You have done a wonderful job with Clara Belle. All of your love and patience has paid off and she has found a wonderful home! What about Peanut? You forgot about Peanut He is a cutie too and the old man who has to put up with Clara and Teddy. Give him a treat and a smooch from Auntie Jodi. I think we need another play date

| My "little" Lane is a rescue, and she weighs in around 8+ pounds. We have had her for almost six months now. We rescued her just before Christmas last year. She came from a puppymill bust in Alabama where she lived in a rabbit cage with 2 or 3 other yorkies. She has come such a long way in the short (though it seems she's been a part of the family forever) time that we've had her. At first she had no idea what a dog toy was or how to play, the squeakers terrified her...now she loves her toys and is a crazy fetching maniac (thanks to "big" sis Rory!) for her special ball. She loves to chase ice around on the tile floors too - this is one of her favorite things to do in the morning...notable because of her shrieking play bark. The rescue told us that she would probably never want to play with our current dog (Rory) and that she wouldn't enjoy daycare and would probably just keep to herself and her crate...I am thrilled to say they were WRONG! We have to give lots of credit to Rory for being the best "big" (Rory is actually younger) sister. She opened her heart and shared her toys, bed, food bowls and parents with her immediately. She has shown her the way in so many ways. Lane proudly enjoys daycare every day with her sister Rory and has definitely become a favorite there as well! I'm happy to say she seems happy to live the life she has always deserved as a spoiled little princess! The first picture is from Christmas Eve...we had her for only 24 hours at this point in time, and I feel like you can see the worry in her eyes. The one with Rory is taken at daycare.

| My Sophie was gotten from a bad breeder by Georgiaonmymind @ 5 months. Sophie & Harley were kept in a filthy 2x2 cage for most of their 5 months. When Georgia got them they had poo impacted in their paws & once they were cleaned had sores in the little paws. Georgia made them well, did a great job of socializing them & offered them for adoption. She is such a funny, happy smart little girl...we just love her. |

| Oh my, all of these babies are ADORABLE!!! Of the five yorkies I have now, only one is a rescue (although I've been blessed to have had others over the years). Jordy is a biewer that was raised in an Arkansas puppy mill. He grew a little too large to breed, so the miller put him in an auction where the rescue group found him. He was 1 1/2 years old at the time. I first heard about him here on YT not long after joining, and just fell in love when I saw his picture. The YT thread was a week or so old by the time I saw it. I figured he would probably already be adopted since he was so CUTE, but I just couldn't forget about him. A few days later I decided to look at the rescue's website and he was still there! I had to fill out an application right then. That same afternoon I got a call from the rescue and the adoption process began. I went that weekend (just before Thanksgiving last year) to pick him up. I couldn't believe they'd chosen ME to be his new mommy!! Jordy has been such a blessing. He is loveable and loving, gentle (especially with the young pups), playful, smart and has the sweetest nature I've ever seen in a dog. He has adjusted well to his new home life. When I first brought him home he didn't know what to do with a toy, or what to think if I gave him a treat, but he figured those out pretty fast!! Now he loves getting his huggins and smooches, and wrestles the others for his favorite toys! I love my sweet little man!! Thank you for this thread. I'm grateful for the opportunity to tell others about my biewer rescue, Jordy!
